I have to attach two 4' x 8'x 4mm coroplast signs to both sides of an existing 1/2" MDO sign. I plan to use 3/4" screws and some type of adhesive like liquid nails. What type of adhesive would you recommend or do you have a better solution? Thanks, Judy

Judy, I'm thinking double-sided tape. Much neater to work with. I get mine from my sign supplier. Be sure to put galvanized washers under your screws too. Love....Jill

I'd be afraid of that lifting no matter what adhesive is used. Vast difference of expansion rates between mdo and coroplast. I'd go with screws and washers making sure to cut oversized slots for screwholes and not clamping the screws tight.

Thanks Jill...double sided tape does sound a lot cleaner. Mike, I was wondering about any adhesive working on that slick coroplast surface. Also I forgot about expansion rates. Thanks, Judy

Thanks Tom & Pat. This is a temporary sign but I figure they will leave it up as long as the coroplast lasts. Will consider silicone. Judy

Judy, Two sided tape ONLY! Did a 4x8 so called temporary coroplast over MDO 5 years ago! Still is there! Use an Automotive tape, not that cheap foam stuff! As far as contraction and expansion goes........you're using coroplast! Don't worry about it. Have had bad luck with silicone!

Use Very High Bond Tape (VHB) by 3m. I tried this stuff at the place I used to work to see what it could do. It will stick like a weld to any clean substrate. Any!

Judy, Jessica is right. It is 3M Scotch brand VHB tape. I do not use silicone at all! It is nasty stuff and silicone and my sign shop don't get along! Compared to VHB tape, well, there is no comparison! I'll put VHB Tape up against silicone in any adhesive test! The only draw-back to VHB is, if you are doing long strips for a perminent bond, you better have things lined up right the first time as you are NOT getting it back apart! You have to be right the first time!!!! I got mine from a Glass shop. They use it for aluminum store front frames. No more screws! I see Fellers has a VHB Tape, but I have not used their brand.

Why use adhesive at all? I'm just wondering because one of my customers did that with a coroplast sign and it literally ripped to pieces over time. Then again, I don't know what product they used and it was probably up a few years.
