most of us will be somehwere around the Vista Home Premium packaged at 239 full 159 ugrade.. and the Windows Vista Business at 299 full 199 upgrade....
also, be sure to know there will be some very upset people who will find their new machines with vista locking out your content.
Vista works with a chip on your motherboard to deny access to any copyrighted content shut off by your vendors. It is here. The means to control your legally purchased software from outside means. In other words subscription usage. Pay 100 a month and you get to use it,, forget to pay and its off.
For example. You purchase software, then do not choose to upgrade at the next cycle. They can/may/will turn off your older version.. This is a major concern for privacy groups..
IE: Too much control over your equipment and your legally purchased content..

Not about to run out and buy upgrades, but without a doubt it will integrate into the shop over the next few years as I replace computers.
I resisted XP for a few years preferring to wipe the drives on new computers, and installing 2000 instead. But as XP matured I found little/no reason to do that, as a result about half the puters in the shop are on XP, and the rest are running 2000. I really don't even notice which machine is running what anymore, they're all stable and all run the apps I want and communicate properly with the devices I have.
I suspect my aquaintence with Vista will be similar, at some point I'll put it on a home computer, but unless, or should I say, until the softwares develop to the point where thay can truly exploit the 64bit OS I won't be in any hurry to change the shop over.
