Rat Fink, was about something else. There is an artist named Stanley Mouse. who was doing the T-Shirt thing about the same time as Ed Roth. Ed, did not like what was happening. Stanley, signed his art "Mouse", just put it together. Stanley Mouse, also did a lot of Hippie Art posters (some for Grateful dead and other bands as well as the concert halls around the bay area. The T-Shirts that "Mouse was doing were far superior to the Roth, shirts by a mile. Ya almost gotta be around my age to pickup on this rip. Type in "Stanley Mouse" on Google.

Jack, you're right about Mouse. He was great! And a big inspiration to me when I was learning to use an airbrush back in the 70's. I see that his website is under construction but there's a ton of his work on wolfgangsvault.com. Really brings back a lot of memories.

Did I see Matt Groening's name on that? I wonder what all he had to do with it...just voices? I just noticed on an episode of The Simpsons where Homer get a "book of cartoons" in the mail and it has some of Roth's work on the cover. I guess Groening was just a big fan?

Went to a local Art Directors Association meeting last night and the speaker was an artist named Art Chantry from Seattle. He's famous for creating the "Grunge" look for the early punk rock posters. He's also a huge fan of Roth and Von Dutch and designed this poster a few years back. It was great to hear him pay homage to these great artists in front of a room of yuppie ad agency people.
