I have a customer who wants a full colour print covering the entire side of his trailers. The one he has is slightly shorter(27')than the one in the picture. The corrugations have wide angles, so I think it could be done by working sideways in panels. The price tag is huge, so do you think the idea of using calendred vinyl is completely out of the question? Would it be too much trouble over the corrugations? The area is roughly 130 sq.ft.
I was just wondering if anybody has done something similar? And would you mind sharing what you charged for it? The factor I am not sure about is labour for the installation. Any other thoughts?

I've done something on a smaller scale. Make sure you make the vinyl wider than the trailer. It's surprising how much those corrugations add to the amount of vinyl you need. Be careful when you calculate the image size...Controltac is a must as is 2mil cast.

Thanks Duncan. The corrugations add 12 inches to the total length. I measured five times and am still paranoid that I might be wrong Probably end up printing another 12 inches extra just in case...
Bruce, the only reason I would use 2mil cast is for its flexibility over the corrugations. Other than that, I think that the reasoning that you can only use cast vinyl on vehicles belongs on Patrick's list of "Things that make me wonder about the sign business".

Lotti, folks stick with Premium Cast for vehicles (and all outdoor permanent jobs) because the Cast dosn't absorb as much U.V. heat, it dosn't shrink (no memory ,different manufacturing process)and Cast usually has a better adhesive system. Your reputation is safer with Cast outdoors. As well as the better ability for applications like this. I wouldn't do a job that size without my R.T.and a premium Cast film by a trusted company.

use 3m ij180c with control tac, it's the only way to go... something like that because of the install burden i'd charge between 18 and 20 a sq. foot. but our reg price for wraps is 15 a square. just adjust for your market.
i'd use verticle pannels and start in the center and work my way out.
