Someone wants me to remove gold leaf/with the black painted backup from a restaurant window. How do I do it? The owner spent 1 hour and a painting glass scraper and only got 4 letters done.

Diane, That should be a 5 minute job with single edge blade in a holder, just make sure the blades are new. It would not be a good idea to use paint stripper in that environment. I don't understand why they had so much trouble.....I assume we are talking just about the letters & not big panels of paint.

You could use a 9" grinder or a belt sander with 60 grit. Seriously, a razor should do it (ibid Jonathan).

I was thinking 12 gauge...but the hammer works. ( I guess that its the "Southerner" in me)...
Razor, like said above, but I use windex in addition that helps it slide better.

smear a thin layer of peanut butter on it, wait 45 minutes then use a single edged razor blade in a holder and scrap it right off!

Ken, I can't believe you would give advice like that. You know you have to add some Rapid Remover to the peanut butter!
