Its the day after Larry White's Deadman meet and I have to say that that was one - if not the best meet that I have ever been at. Larry you are quite the host.
I am now at a friend's house for the day until my plane leaves San Francisco tomorrow. I can't wait to get back to the shop and start working on the projects that I didn't get done.
I have plenty of pics but will have to post later.
ps. Thanks Ronnie and Robin for talking me into going on the S.F. tour with some locals. It was great.

No problem Laura, just got home a little later is all, and although I spent four years in the Bay Area, I've never been to the Fort, under the Golden Gate, so Ron Percell was a Great Tour Guide for this little venture. Wasn't Larry's event something! Had a great time as well, with some realy wunderful people. Robin

Where else can you get Larry's obsession with Dead Man, Tony's famouse ribeye steak, people dressed in vintage costume, live music, belly dancing, screeching owls, non-stop movies, chemical lounge, 360 degree panarama of eye candy, etc.

I had a great time, I sure am getting fond of the folks I've met through Larry's meets. Good, generous, giving people - all of them. I can't believe how quickly and openly they welcome new friends.
Thanks to Larry and Doug for your hospitality. You must be exhausted!
Sarah it was great to finally meet you in person after all the laughter we have shared on the telephone, our interactions now will have so much more meaning to me.
Pat and Ruth, you are wonderful travelling companions and roommates. Laughter abounds!
Thank you Danny and Kathy for the wonderful supper and evening Sunday night. I think we all really enjoyed it. I hope we get the chance to do it again sometime.
Now back to the real world.

Someone's elses previous work from an old Conclave.
A piece hanging on Larry's wall. The photos don't do any of these pieces justice. You have to see them in person to really appreciate the work that went into them.
Pat & Ron Percell
Pat's piece WAS SMOKIN'
Jeff Brown brought last years piece back to finish.
Frank working on a sandblasted piece the last day.

It's all just about gildin' and paintin' ain't it really in the end? Gildin' bein' a sign thing, ya know. I don't know, paintin' bein' about us, about Letterheads. What the hell do we know in the end anyway all that movin' about. Christ, it's just about a Letterhead meet really. Letterhead meet to me of course is transforming the whole darn shop. Course what the hell would I know about gilding anyway, I mean a glass sign, you know what I mean. Huh?

Sally, you are a funny one. You're actually gonna try to convince me that the difference between you makin' a nice gold leaf sign and slappin' some vinyl, is my talkin'? You best take stock in yourself son. Huh? I mean, you were someone's son once weren't ya? Your poor ole father. God almighty. I don't know if you've been told this before, but a, jeez, your glue pot is a bit low on temperature...ain't it. I remember the finest etch textures, glass all nice and sparkly, glue chip letter centers, funny, I just think about Dead Man. Well, that's me...that's me. Angel gilding, rib roast waitin' for ya. Chemical Lounge can be fun Sally, I remember lots of 'em. Ya just the smell of some familiar acid, the sound of the glue chippin' off the glass...and a cold Coca Cola...

I just had a very strange dream. You and I were gilding together on the glass, through very thin vinyl. There was a huge white piece of vinyl. Everything was white. But we weren't holding our tips. We were able to lay the gold across the surface of the vinyl with squeegies.

Wow again and again. Thanks for the pics Laura. My jaw finally stopped dropping and now I want to tell you it's great when you titled the pics. That's really enjoyable to know who's who, etc. (now I know that Tony isn't the belly dancer!) Which books would you suggest for glass guilding as a beginner, btw? I've never braved the glass as of yet.
