I'm curious if anyone else here uses a trackball. Almost every day someone will mention how "impossible to use" a trackball is and they'll treat the thing like it's radioactive. I've just always found it so much easier than fighting with a traditional mouse and it makes drawing onscreen so much easier.
Anybody else using one? If not does anybody have an old Logitech Trackman FX sitting around they want to get rid of cheap?

Trackball is the way to go I won't own a mouse. I use Trackball optical from microsoft..The one you use with your thumb to operate the ball. I have tried others but this one suits me best and they are reasonably priced at like $29 if I remmber right.

Trackball here too until I buy a tablet. Mine is a Logitech. I do get a kick out of watching others trying to use it for the first time

...My "old" MS trackball was excellent for playing video games. My new 'puter came w. a wireless lazer mouse, which is much faster and more accurate than the ball.

My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 3129 | From: Tooele, UT | Registered: Mar 2005

I have both a Logitech Marble trackball and a regular mouse on my computer. I probably split the use on them around 50/50... I too like the track-ball for design work. I do not have a graphics tablet but would like to try one, been watching Ebay to try to pick one up used.. (hate to invest a lot in it and then not like it)
One nice thing is when I get really behind, I move the trackball over to my left hand and use the mouse in my right simultaneously... You can really get nice squiggly lines that way. The cursor will fly. I tried it the other way around one time and I drew everything in reverse. However, a PB&J sandwich in reverse is still a PB&J sandwich...

My artist uses a thumb trackball and loves it, that way you don't get finger cramps just thumb cramp and you have less of those to cramp
