A little more creative grouping and you've got yourself a still life.

Here is what we had in the garden (in 2002) when Nicholas was just a few mos. old. We grow some big stuff with all the daylight we get here in Alaska.

Man, I look at mine and wonder why in the heck I planted all the squash and zucchini. That picture does give me an idea. I'm going to leave one of each on a plant and just let them grow and see how big they'll get.

Hey Doug!

I think you need to repost that picture to a new thread titled "caption this!" That look on little Nicholas' face is priceless.

I've got one ready to go when and if you do....

being of italian decent......grownin up in pa., my parents planted zukes, and yea you can get some "bigens" but the one in my pic is right at the limit to be really good....i picked it today, and another day it woulda been no good if it got bigger. 6-14" is about the best size.....after that size the center gets mushy and the seeds get to be the the size of quarters...and they aint that tasty....ZUCHINNI DELUOUSA...

3-4(8"-14") NICE ZUKES LEAVE SKIN ON
SLICE AND QUARTER
BIG TALL POT
OLIVE OIL THE BOTTOM
LOTS OF GARLIC INTO THE OIL
AS IT COOKS
ADD THE ZUKES
COOK ON HIGH TILL YOU SEE IT CHANGE COLOR
WHEN NEAR DONE BEAT 2 EGGS IN A GLASS
1-2 CUPS OF ROMANO/PAR GRATED CHEESE
IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF WATER IN THE POT FROM THRE ZUKES POUR IT OFF(SAVE)
WITH A BARE SPOT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE POT YOU ADD THE EGGS SO THEY COOK AND THEN ADD CHEESE
2 SM CANS OF TOMATO PASTE INTO THE MIX, NOW YOU ADD BACK THE WATER YOU POURED OFF....
LET SET AFEW MIN NO HEAT...
AND EAT!!!!!
