For about the past 5 years or so we have reduced the size of our YP ad every year; we now have only a small business card sized ad in black and white. When we opened, we bought a half page color ad and were dominant for about 4 years. A drug selling competitor (I hired one of their former employees) took out a big color ad and, somehow, I found out it was costing them significantly less than mine; I was totally PO'ed and let the YP man have it right between the eyes. I told him that is bad business to give great deals to newbies, screwing the ones with tenure. I told him I would be reducing the size of my ad until the YP morons figured out that the value of their advertising is going *down* every year, not up and that (like Dan said) a good website can be more valuable than a silly little ad. They are still playing their game and the yellow part of the book is getting thinner every year. They just don't get it. Another thing they're not getting is a huge chunk of my money every month.

Dan I bought your two books on logo design at the zoo meet; just wanted to tell you how much I am enjoying them.

I have to agree with Dan and Curtis totally. And Bob Cole, that is very good math; thanks for pointing that out.
