Hey, haven't been on here in a while and it's good to "see" you guys again. Me, I've been working my patooty off, and am still having a hard time keeping up. Sometimes I think looming deadlines are good for creativity, though. That's when you look back at them, that is-not when they're staring you in the face.
I think I've set an all time record on just how many articles of clothing I've ruined with paint this year, already.
The heat here is ridiculous already, the bugs aren't so bad yet. I am dreading the first call of the jar-flies in the trees. They usually start around the first week of July and drone on and on till September. Then, I won't mind when the employees crank up the music a little, so much.
It's lunch time here right now. Left over shishkabobs from last night with steak, onions, mushrooms and red peppers that spent about 30 minutes in A-1 New York Steakhouse marinade and another twenty on the grill. Now that's one good thing about the summertime here. Fresh produce! I got my first batch of greenbeans this past weekend, and squash about two weeks ago. The tomatoes are on the verge of red, too.
And after lunch, back into the sweltering heat! This weather surely makes one appreciate a good shower at the end of the day.
How about some quick summations of where you all are at right now? It's a poor excuse for keeping in touch, but it beats nothing.

We have had nearly steady rain since last Friday. Rain and gloom. I delayed taking Justis to Kennywood due to having Rachael's graduation party that week. We tried to go last Friday but it was hopelessly rainy. Today there is only a chance of showers, but no chance for Kennywood due to 2 tractor trailers for me to letter this afternoon. The All-Star game is in Pittsburgh this year. In late May I entered a art contest to design one of the stars to be erected in the Fifth & Forbes corridor to decorate the city. Never heard anything so I figgered "Oh well". Got a call Monday asking when I was going to come and get my star...and the deadline is Friday! My confirmation email was never received. The man handling this thing laughed when he heard I was a sign painter, because all of my three submissions "looked like signs". So I have to finish that tomorrow so I can take Justis to Kennywood by Friday as our school picnic tickets expire then! I am determined, and I know I can get the job done. I wouldn't enjoy Kennywood anyway with something hanging over my head. I also have to letter a window for a massage therapist, who last week thought I looked askew, reached over, and "cracked" something in my shoulder that's been bugging me since before the Scotland trip. Our corn should be knee-high for the fourth of July, and the lightning bugs are out at night. We also have 3 grey squirrels in the yard, and several "grinnies" (chipmunks) lots of bunnies, and a NEW nest of baby birds up in that porch vent. Well that was my quick summation! Have a great summer, Teresa. Love....Jill PS I usually go barefoot, but so far I've never mis-matched my shoes!

It's been raining sporadically for 3 days now...temps in the mid-90's, and the air is just dripping with humidity. I changed my shirt 4 times yesterday. June is the worst down here...it's just miserable to work outside. Naturally I have outdoor graphics to paint at the moment on an athletic field(no shade). No wonder we're called walldogs...(pant,pant)!! Other than that, things are great !

It's been a drought here for the last few months but about 4 o'clock yesterday it was raining like a cow peeing on a flat rock. We must have gotten well over an inch in about 30 minutes. Watermelons are in; we got 2 black diamonds (the big *sweet* very dark green round ones) and 6 sugar babies. We also got some right out of the field cantelopes, tomatoes and peppers. The free stone peaches (the BIG ones) are coming in too. It's hit near 100 so far. Why do people wait til dead of summer to need signs installed outside?

71º and only 65% humidty here today. You're right Tracie, we'd better not rub it in!
Seeing as I spent the last 5 summers living in HELL - yes, literally - Palm Springs is as close as you can get to hell on earth - I'm going to enjoy every minute of this.

I used to live Oxnard many moons ago, so I definitely know what I'm missing.
I read in the paper last night that GA is having one of it's sweetest watermelon seasons on record. Scott brought in two cucumbers and five cherry tomatoes form the garden yesterday evening- that'll be good in a salad tonight.
