Man I wish I could be there, if there's one place I'd like to go, as I'm sure this is true with most letterheads, it would be Dan's place... maybe this is a warmup to another longer meet down the road? Hey Dan? I hav'nt been to BC in over 10 years, and I've been to chilliwack before but that was 28 years ago... I'd love to see the "Super Natural" Province once agaim.
Mike is going to have to represent Newfoundland and Labrador... or is that Labrador and Newfoundland. lol

This is but the FIRST Picnic at the Ranch. The next one will be a three day event too.... I promise.
Adrienne... There are lots of places to eat in that area in Chilliwack. Janis & I most often go to Earl's when we go out to dinner. For casual we go to a little place right here in Yarrow... the Rosedale. Its just a tiny place but the food is good and prices reasonable... Canadian and Chinese. That's where Duncan & I will be eating on Friday night.
Anyone else who is in the area is welcome to join us and drop in at the ranch too if you like. Supper will be 6-6:30 or so. We'll be wrapped up in last minute chores, setting things up for the meet. If you show you can count on being put to work I'm sure.
I wish safe journeys to all Letterheads travelling tomorrow and Saturday morning. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making the effort to travel here for the picnic!
THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Rosedale is just a half block from the ranch which is at the OTHER end of Yarrow! Park here and we'll walk.
I believe they have crayons... but we'll bring some just in case.

We are down to the crunch now... ONLY ONE DAY TO GO!
The easels are up... everything in the shop is laid out... just the Letterheads are missing. I don't know how we will fit 75 folks in here!
With a few heads coming in early (to help set up the tents, chairs, and such it will really start tomorrow just after noon. I pick up Duncan at the Abbotsford airport at 12:30... then its Letterhead time!
Its time for a PICNIC at the RANCH!!!
Safe travels everyone!

Getting here is pretty easy. Going east on the HWY 1 take 104 exit onto #3 road. Head east. Follow the signs to Cultus Lake/Yarrow. The road winds some with some 90 degree turns and a stop sign along the way. I've never clocked it but I would guess perhaps 5 miles off the freeway. Keep on number 3 road until you hit a T intersection with a stop sign right in Yarrow. Its by the door plant. Turn LEFT onto Yarrow Central Road. You are ALMOST THERE! Go through town until you are at the fire hall... we are across the road... 42392 Yarrow Central Road. We'll have BIG sign out front and there should be lots of sign type cars around.
Parking is on the street or in our neighbors yard. I'll have someone posted at our gate to let you know where the best spot is at the time.
We look forward to seeing you at the PICNIC!!!!!!

Yeah, so last night I we were sitting at the supper table. And I said "Sigh.........I would really like to go for a picnic this weekend." I got the what are you talking about now Mom, look from my teenage daughters, as usual. And this deer in the headlights look from my husband. 'Cause he knows when I come out with a line like that there's going to be another line behind it. "Oh yeah?" says he, quickly to get the word in before the next line. "When will we fit that in? Friday night is another grand opening to yet another one of your sign clients' new ventures. Sat.is the car show, Sunday we are all helping to put that truckload of mulch that's sitting in the driveway on all the flowerbeds. And you want to go for a picnic. Right. Where would you want to squeeze that in now?"
So anyway, I guess I'm not going to make it.
So I hope your next one is gonna be in 2008 Dan. Because I am hitting Kelly's and the East Coast next year, all within a month. And I think if I say I want to hit B.C. too I might be tossed out on my keester. Have fun everybody! Wish I was going. Man...... this is worse than missing Lodi. Talk about feeling sorry for myself. Still going to try to make it for dinner but my plans got changed on me.
Had a firecall at 2am this morning, big house, total loss, but everyone got out safe.
I unfortunately went to the hospital with smoke inhalation, I was eating it pretty good there for awhile, and couldnt catch up with my breathing, so the ambulance packed me off.
Have to head back to the hostipal in about an hour from now for some chest xrays, blood workup, and a lung function test.
Hopefully wont take that long, and if they get through it quick enough and release me, I hope to see ya for dinner still. If not, guess I'll hope to make it for saturday morning.
Wish me luck! looking forward to a nice dinner!

I hope you guys have a great time with Grandpa. While all of you are partying, I will still be here just keeping my nose to the grindstone. You know, SOMEONE has to actually work every once in a while.
It will be a very special event, I know. I'll wait for the news at 11.
Whenever the Big One is scheduled you can be sure that I will be there. Probably even bring along a few samples just to show Sawatzky what a "pea shooter" can do...at about third the cost.
Have a blast everyone.

Wish we could be there! It's just TOOO far for us right now. Maybe the next one. Hope you ALL have a great time! I'll be thinking about you all when I'm getting my manicure and sitting in the massage chair for my pedicure on my birthday! Small consolation prize I guess, but better than coal, cobs and a stick we used to get promised when we were kids on our birthday ,if we were bad!! hehehehe

Are you packing light? If so I can probably pick you up on the way to the 'ranch. Leave G'Dan with the hosting duties.
Oh I'll be on a motorcycle..that might make a difference if you're afraid of them or intend to wear flip-flops. It will have room for a few things its a big bike with hardcases.
Letterheads are being spotted EVERYWHERE in downtown remote Yarrow! I missed dinner, but Cody and I spotted a gang outside of the local restaurant and had to run up for some hugs. Very surreal to see our far away buds just standing in the smallest town you can imagine. It sure is great to see those familar as well as new smiling faces!
The Ranch is looking incredible. Dan and his crew have done so much work in the past little while, which will be evident in pictures to come.

With a LOT of help from friends, family, employees, neighbors and everyone else I could talk inhto it we are ready to Picnic.
About 20 heads showed up yesterday and they too were pressed into service to get ready...
NOW ITS PICNIC TIME!!! I'm off to Tim Hortons to get the donuts and then we OFFICIALLY begin.
And yes I DID get about 7 hours of GOOD sleep last night with a BIG ol' grin on my face.

Dan, I hope everyone had a great time, I'm sure it was fun. I intend to get over to your place one day, let me know when the Big One is on. I would love to have been there but this weekend was rather busy for us. Jayne and I attended a two day first aid course plus on Saturday night we a had our daughter Kates engagement party at home as well. Looks like we will be in Tonga at Easter for the wedding.
