My Chiropractor is moving out of his rented building and bought himself one that I'll be making the signs. He is taking on a partner and wants a name for the office that does not include his own name so that he can possibly franchise the operation.
The only thing he could come up with was Spinal Solutions. He's not crazy about the name but can't think of anything else. I've seen a wealth of creativity from fellow heads so I thought I'd let anyone interested take a shot at this.

Hi Dave. How about combining two words into one so that the new word gives some indication of their area of practice and expertise. For instance: Vertebrae and Action = Vertibraction or
Flexible and Vertebrae = Vertiflex
Hope this helps to stimulate some creative thought.

I agree with Glenn. Cute is definatly out, and with the creative sense of humor so many of you have displayed in the past, I knew I'd get some off the wall stuff. It's good for a chuckle, but we're looking for some serious professional names.
I like several of Glenn's ideas. Any more?
And what do you all think of Spinal Solutions? I don't really care for it. When I see it I think of Spinal Tap which makes me think of a crazy band or a less than desireable procedure.

Find out what image he wants to put out there then pick up a thesaurus.
BTW, "Spinal Solutions" says nothing to me and it doesn't describe the type of work, service or attitude of the establishment. All it says is "Yeah, we work on backs just like every other chiropractor out there."

Dave - think about the initials of whatever you choose. To me one of the most attractive logos is a monogram of elegant or stately initials that work well together. I think for a Chiropractic Centre it is important to project a professional and solid image.

If you want something more positive and up-beat, how about: Jump For Joy Chiropractic Care
It does carry a sort of subliminal message of successful treatment, and isn't that what most potential chiropractic patients are seeking?

Just "thinking out loud here, when you sell tires, you're selling safety for the family, when you sell air conditioning, you're selling comfort. So,what's the results here?
Relief? Return to normal, to productivity? Nuerelogical performance? (healing 'flows' through spine) Youth? Accident therapy?
Last night I was helping my daughter come up with a name for a horse tack shop. I finally looked up names of exterior horse parts (not guts). I came up with these: Wind & Mane, Wind & Withers, Muzzle & mane, and a few others. I was pleased with the results. The ones with 'wind' conveyed action.
So that means if you slip-o a disk-o at the disco, you can fix it at the 'Disk Tech'. (sorry )

Dave, find out if you can what is different about him, compared with other chiropractors- maybe he does kinesiology too? and perhaps incorporate that.
James, Fetlock & Feather was a magazine that ran for a decade or two, a Canadian publication. The alliteration of the two Fs or in your case, the Ms or Ws always helps with 'catchiness'.

James is on the right track. (Glenn too, no doubt).
If your client is serious about franchising, he needs to get serious about branding. Developing his brand name should be based on research.
So...BEFORE entertaining any suggestions for a new business name, your client should conduct some focussed market research. His research doesn't have to be extensive or expensive. Have him start by designing a series of questions to ask existing clients (preferably a mix of new and long-standing clients within his target demographic). He's looking for information about why people need his services, what they hope to get out of the experience (and how he can improve), why they chose him over competitors, why they keep coming back (etc...I'm just shooting from the hip here).
Based on the research, he and his team should try to brainstorm a large number (say 100) of possible names...then whittle the list down to a shortlist of maybe 10-20 of the best...then go back to the field and get some feedback. Based on the feedback, they want to come out of the process with a final list of 3-5 names to test--getting feedback from non-customers within their target demographic. Pick the name that tests best.
Make sense?

I don't know what the consensus is on "borrowing" ideas from other company names in use far away from your client, but I remembered a chiropractic business name here in Maui that caught my attention as being intelligent, professional & somewhat original (to me) ...I'll admit that I couldn't dredge the name up from memory, (ut my brain could be to blame as much as the name)so I opened up the phone book & there it was...

I'm with Russ, the word Spinal makes me wanta take a painkiller...
One thing I tell a people that are looking for business names is to use a good domain finder when making a list of possible names. Not only can they see if a .com or .net is available for the name they have in mind, sometimes you get ideas from the other options the name searcher throws up... this might especially be important for advertising if he's wanting to franchise...
I like Glenn's suggestions, but also think Ken had a good idea with his Vertiflex suggestion or something like that... especially if they are thinking of having multiple locations. It sounds modern and a little less generic than Family Chiropractic etc.
The best chiropractic office in our town is simply called Health Plus.

As you can tell, I've never had a sign job for a Chiropractor. If I think of something normal, I'll let you know! Just feeling a little goofy this morning.
Good Luck on your quest for the perfect name.
