Hiya 'heads, I'm lookin for opinions on this...
It's something I designed a while ago, and I never had a use for it. I've seen something similar available at signcraft, but it was rather generic. So, my plan to use it as a sales tool to present to clients to show them some options when it comes to making a decision on the type of sign they would like.
Thanks,
Checkers

I don't like the "cheap" part on the paper signs part.... Maybe say "economical" or something else. And you need a window splash! And a wall job. And a lettered vehicle parked on the opposite side of the monumental one. And a mailbox!

Funny you should mention that Jill, I don't like it either. But "economical" or "affordable" doesn't fit as well. Maybe "Great Value" will work I wanted to to add the other stuff that you mentioned, but I ran out of room and to be honest it will be a real pain. here's what I had going...
Thanks again!

My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 3129 | From: Tooele, UT | Registered: Mar 2005

Pretty cool! Are you going to have the numbers showing on the final design or are you gonna hot link the signs like David Butler did on his site?

Hi Checkers. I'm of a mixed opinion concerning this type of advertisment. On one hand, I can see the benefit of "suggestive selling" and stimulating your potential customers' collective imaginations. On the opposing hand, I am seeing visual clutter....of the type that ordinances are designed to eliminate. While you may want to provide visual stimulation to trigger a potential sale, you don't want to convey the impression that your business is one that contributes to the problem of visual clutter.
I think that it might be more effective to show good examples of each type of sign, and how they can be best used within a specific context. In a given situation, an awning might best provide a solution rather than a projecting sign, or a banner. Banners, however do have their place, and showing one in a temporary setting, providing much needed impact and exposure might better sell it. Long story short: I'm thinking that something like this is attempting to accomplish too much, and in the process, also sends a false and negative overall impression.
Hope I didn't step on your idea too hard. I'm just trying to look at the opposite side of the coin, so to speak.

You forgot one key ingredient to the total package:
I would really be curious as to how much time I waste picking on this poor man!
Whatever it is....it's worth it!
Edit: Jill, I laughed out loud when I saw your post! And, thank you for covering his speedo!!!!
Brian: Good idea, and I would agree with Jill's original post. You seem to have a good grasp on your business direction. An inspiration to many here, including me.

Thanks for the comments people. I want to add the other products, but I'm trying to design it to fit on a 8.5"x11" sheet of paper. So I'm a little limited on space. If I include it on my web site, I think I may have a solution that won't look so busy I'll keep working at it and anny aditional comments, good or bad, are always welcomed.
Cheers,
Checkers

Hey Brian.... I think it looks great. We all know most people are "Design Blind" and need to have their hand held through visualizing signage and application. This pretty much covers that part. If they "don't get it", they aren't worth dealing with. I did see a layout like this in one of the Sign Painting books.... Hmmm I don't remember which one though. The Professor says Go With It!
