Raymond loves to make up rules it seems, ESPECIALLY when he is afraid of LOSING. He makes much noise about the job needs to be a paying one to count and not a sample. NOT!!!!!!!!!
The RULES for engagement in ROUTER WARS II should be REAL simple in my view... the work simply has to be made on a router.
Samples are VALUABLE as they provide a test bed for RESEARCH. Samples are also a valuable selling tool for the future! I'll have some paying work to go up against Raymond too when the time comes, but I say we ESPECIALLY include our R & D work too for this is where new ground is to be broken and THAT is what this thing is all about!
So no hiding behind all kinds of silly rules when we get into this thing Raymond.... the MultiCam is ready...
I'm NOT afraid.... are YOU??????

Unlike the appearance that shops in Yarrow and Temple display, we here in Hummelstown have to work for a living and have little time for “wars”. We would however, be pleased to participate as time permits. We love our router, however, it is nothing more then a tool and each tool has it’s time and place for use. With that in mind here is our first offering for consumption in the “wars”, a project from last year.
Here is what our Gerber Sabre router, wire brush, sandpaper, sandblasting, and airbrush did to some Sign Foam material. The entire height of the tree is just over 10”, so this is a “close up”.
The tree above is just one component of many that makes up a restaurant logo. Oak Veneer, Sign Foam, Komatex, Excel MDF, and some TLC (plus a few hours and some Grip Guard Plus) combined to create the base logo that is used as a stand alone sign plus another version that integrates into a “main menu” sign.

Nice work and detail, Bob. The Mesquite tree looks "Mesquitey". Mesquites are also loaded with thorns. I climbed many a Mesquite as a kid, however, the thorns do make them harder to fall out of.

So Yankee Bob...you want to join the Router War. Fine. There are some rules that you must adhere to or we are not all playing on a level field.
First...you have to have designed the project yourself. You DID design these yourself, right? HMMMMMMMM?
Second...you have to have done the project on your OWN router table (that you bought and paid for). The work was done on your OWN table, right? HHMMMMMMM?

Why would I want to do that when there is “creative staff” here getting paid for that sort of thing? Man, if I had to do “that” on top of everything else I’d never have time for the Bull Board (or call and harass people that live in Texas ).

I’ve always been better at spending other people’s money (you are buying diner tomorrow, right? ). Last year I was instrumental in a few printers, some laminators, lots-o-software, and one router machine being purchased. All with other people’s money (various shops, not just Stoner)!
Truth be told, I did offer to pay for part of the machine (mostly the “upgraded” options I desired) if the investment didn’t pan out. Needless to say, I never came close to touching my wallet (it was up and running paying jobs and then turning profitability waaayyyy before my projections ).
I don’t know Raymond, maybe I’m the smart one this count; using a machine someone else footed the bill for.
I’m OK with these AAA minor league “rules” that protect developing talent. Just drop me an email when you’re ready to move up to major league play; I'll be waiting for you.
