Cannot buy full sheets of White Coroplast here now - checked with the only 3 suppliers I know of in Memphis, Tn & everybodies back-ordered - Tubelite & Piedmont Plastic are both telling me it will be July before a shipment comes in - went to tublelite today after they told me they had 5 sheets available - only to be led thru the warehouse to pull it myself - -then when writing the check they said sorry, it's already sold. . . .. hour and a half of travel time, plus gas wasted, plus, no product. . . . Fortunately I'm stocked up on 24"x18" cut sheets. . . anybody else here experiencing shortages of getting white coro? did manage to find 5 full sheets at an obscure locatioin - but had to pay 10 bucks a sheet - - meybee should buy them out tomorrow - & see whut happens - - - -

I ordered 65 small sheets for a job in April, and didn't count them on arrival. When I'd finished printing the rack looked a bit light on. The suppliers short-changed me 10 sheets and only sent 55 of them. I quickly cut up some spares and finished the printing, but it was an unpleasant surprise. I complained by email in late March, and today, (9 weeks later) by registered post, came 30 more marked "Balance of order". Better late than never, I guess, but no apologies.
I don't know if this constituted a mass shortage though!

I know our coro has almost doubled in price. Supposedly it is a ripple effect from Katrina? I heard that one of the main plants down South had been wiped out. And not to sound dumb, but isn't coro indirectly made from petroleum products? love....Jill

I wonder if it has anything to do with hurricane season starting next week? After the hurricanes came through here people were all over the news marketing coro to cover up windows. I don't know, plywood or coroplast. I think the expense & weight of the wood outweighs it but what do I know.
I don't ever sell coro signs so I'm not of much help!!

I can see an opportunity here to sell contractors huge piles of coro window coverings, advertising thier business services after the storm is over.
They could hand them out free or a cheap price.

We used 10 mil coro for window coverings before the storm. Only saw a few use 4 mil after the storm. Maybe because no one thought of it or could get it..
Frankly, you coldn't get anything for a couple of weeks..

Price increases happened some time ago, the Katrina area is where the resins are made and there was a hold up (no pun intended) for awhile. I jsut bought over 400 sheets from my local GE Polymershapes branch. You might check them out.

Ken - you would if you had several hundred dollars worth of orders that require it - need (2) 8'x4' full sheets for a cover-up on existing can sign, (2) 5'x30" window signs where there is no other option to mount signs on building, 6 ft. piece for a presentation check - Coroplast definately has it's place - sure I could wrap the 8'x4' can sign with a banner 15' off the ground- but look at the difference - I can stick the coro wid double stik tape easily on an 24' extension ladder by myself - same job with banner wrap would involve drilling holes in steel framework, multiple screws & washers, multiple ladder moves - even a helper would help for that nightmare- - -did I mention this particular job is in the ghetto where I want to git in & out quickly? Material cost = coroplast $13.50. 14 oz. Bannermax for job would be $97 . . .
hey nuthin personal I'vbe been scolded here too. . . .
