...If you have not already, you simply must check out GOOGLE EARTH ! It is based on global satellite imagry and makes every "nook and kranny" of the earth available to anyone who wants to explore it. As you will see, it is very awesome. I'm addicted already, it's my new favorite site

Jake, you have to wait long enough for the image to load 100%. There's an indicator in the lower right. Although I have noticed the less populated areas are also less detailed.

Kimmy and i have fun, traveling the world... Check out some places of interest, like the hoover dam, pyramids, the Vegas strip, great barrier reef, great wall of China, Taj Mahal, Bryce Canyon.
Some of the world is not as detailed as others, for some reason. you can also ad digital enhancements, try adding the buildings to downtown NY or Vegas, then use the persective up and down on the bottom right side... its like a 3D model.

My area is very blurry too..I think this is because the latest aerial photographs were taken in 1999. There are more details in areas with updated aerial photographs. Judy

You can go to the Google Earth Community website and they list places of interest to zoom in on - one section is signs that can be seen from a satellite......

Some areas that are blurry is done purposely because Google can't affordably store images of lower population areas in the system (they may nort be available either - don't know for sure). The larger cities have higher resolution - plus the buildings feature (very cool!!). Can you imagine detailed photos of western Montana - or central Nebraska? Who'd need them?
It isn't age or your eyes - nor is it a bad computer - nor not waiting long enough to load - nor older satellite images. It's dollars and cents - and the lower density of population in the areas you are looking at.
But lucky you if you were looking where you live!! I'd love to see my house blurry!!

S'funny , where I live is about as remote as it gets but there's a strip of Hi-res imagery right through the area. Can pick out individual cars.
