My flyer arrived from Pierre Tardif today. The calligraphy work on my name and address on the enevelope was just beautiful. You can be sure I will frame it and hang it in my shop.

I know what you mean Louie; I've got many envelopes that I count among my most treasured things. I have them (all decorated to the hilt) from Alton Gillespie, Gary Anderson, Noel Weber, Cosmic Ray, David Showalter, John Cox, Soup-r-Frog, Mike Stevens (yes, the real one) and many others. I'll never forget the Christmas card I sent Alton; it had stars in the night sky and some sort of snowy landscape. He traced over the stars and sent it to me with an outline of a "new" constellation, Waldo, the falling walldog". He had somehow picked out and outlined this from the card. He did not add any stars or take any away; it was just there and it was nearly perfect, much better than the signs of the zodiac. It's such a treat to get letters and envelopes from friends like that.

It's funny, I have people tell me all the time that they still have calligraphed envelopes that my father sent them.

Thanks guys for the kind words! You would'nt believe the fun I have doing those enveloppes!
I just got back from a quick calligraphy day with John Decollibus (www.beyondwordsscript.com) in Massachussets and got plenty of great tricks for the next batch of enveloppes! But I gotta practice them before. Lotta practice!
