We're considering going to Mytrle Beach for the Spring Break thing. My daughter is 15, so we won't be hitting the clubs or casinos. Anyone know of any family-friendly activities (that won't bore a 15 year old girl)?? Any beach resort you might recommend?
Thanks!

Yes! If you want to stay out of the teen party thing....stay around North Myrtle Beach.
Lot's to do! There's an especially cool putt-putt course there....multi-level, Nascar go-cart tracks, the beach has some great waves coming in for playing in, good restaurants (and there's a Planet Hollywood, and Hard Rock Cafe she's like)....all kinds of stuff.
We went there 2 years in a row for vacation and really enjoyed it....with kids that were 15 and 17 at the time.
Have fun!

As Todd said, we happen to prefer North MB rather than the original.

Your daughter would probably prefer Myrtle or North Myrtle, but our favorite area is south - Litchfield, Pawley's Island, Murrels Inlet. Let me know if you want restaurant recommendations.

There's probably more to do than you need. There are tons of stores, go-karts, Ripleys Aquarium, motion theatres, the Pavillion Amusement park, theme restaurants, many live shows, and much more. Wherever you stay, there will be probably be 50 or more brochures and coupon books for attractions, restaurants, and motels. There's plenty of fun things to do. Have fun!

The Lowcountry of South Carolina is absolutely one of the most beautiful places on earth. Savannah and Tybee Island have the same charm - it really depends on what you're looking for.
If you want diversions and shopping, Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Savannah would be the ticket. If you prefer quiet walks on the beach and huge live oaks draped with Spanish moss, go for Hilton Head, Edisto Island, or Pawleys.
One of my favorite movies, "The Notebook" was filmed around Mt. Pleasant and Charleston. It really captures the beauty and the architecture of the area.

While at East Coast Artie's, we went to the sculpture gardens. I don't know about the teen ager, but any adult would be amazed at this place.

when I first started in business, Art had just moved away, as he had a shop about 15 miles from me. I never had the privledge of meeting him until 6 months ago, at a local sign show.

Artie is in Surfside Beach just South of Myrtle Beach. Last time I talked to him he was planning on moving his shop this spring. If he hasn't then go to the Hardee's restaurant at Surfside Beach on Hwy.17 and turn right, go 1/4 mile and his shop is on the right in a group of buildings. His number is 843-215-3600. If you talk to Artie ask him some places to eat. Mike's is an Italian place in Surfside that has great lasagna, spaghetti, and pizza. There is a burger joint in the same strip mall that has awesome burgers. Whoever owns it loves any team from Pittsburgh.
The stay will probably be more enjoyable if you stay in North or South Myrtle beach. Probably less crowded and less expensive too. There are tons of things to do there. The place Bill is talking about is Brook Green Gardens. It really is an outdoor art gallery.
