Well after a good deal of research and waiting for the past two years, we have finally taken delivery of our latest toy.
Although there have been several delays, our new flatbed printer is physically in the building. The tech is supposed to come next week to assemble and train us on it. I trust this investment will be as good if not better than the Roland Soljet we are currently printing with.
Some of the features:
Print Speed/Mode Up to 250 ft² per hour - Draft Mode Up to 160 ft² per hour - High Speed Mode Up to 100 ft² per hour - Production Mode Up to 80 ft² per hour - Quality Mode
Resolution 720 x 720 dpi - 6 color (1440 dpi apparent) 720 x 540 dpi 720 x 360 dpi 360 x 540 dpi 360 x 360 dpi
Here are a few pics of the new baby!
The crate weighed in at a hefty 1,700 lbs.
Barely will fit through the doors.
The infeed and outfeed tables aren't mounted on the machine at this point.
I'll just be able to squeeze past this thing. At over 12' its huge.
A little tight but I can still keep my regulation pool table in here! Side pocket shots might be a little cramped.
Included in the kit are astronaut looking sun glasses so you dont burn your eyes if you need to look inside.
UV...Ink is instantly cured as it comes off the table.

Teresa I'm going to print a 4'X 8' $ dollar sign on coroplast and put it on my outside wall so when my customers pull in, they will know their going to be spending money when they walk through the door!
Ron I'll stay in touch and we can compare notes...
Donna it will cut down on the amount of vinyl needed to print on the SolJet. Plus it will cut down drastically on labor to mount all of the SolJet prints and best of all, I can print a full color 4' x 8' sign straight to any material up to 1" thick in under thirty minutes and its completely cured when it comes off the table. All my time goes into design and production then becomes secondary.
This business is actually fun now!

Wow, you need to build on! I've been convinced for a long time that direct printing is the signmaking of the future. It just makes sense. If I could drum up the work volume, I'd invest in one of these babies in a heartbeat.
