Okay, I have too much time on my hands again...
After a dozen meets, I've met a bunch of great folks and learned something from every one of them, but here in Letterville, there are those who have also influenced my learning curve I haven't met and sure would like to meet.
Like most meets, there's really not a whole lotta rules....just one....
List 5 of the people you've read posts from here or have heard of elsewhere that you'd most like to meet in person and a brief reason why.
My choices are...
Mike Lavallee - just to watch him paint. David Butler - just to watch him design. Joey Madden - just to watch him stripe. Dan Sawatzky - just to watch him imagine. John Deaton - just to call him "Tater" all weekend.
Welcome to the "1st ONLINE LETTERHEAD I WANNA" meet! (brushes optional)

David and Robin MacDonald - (ok, that's two but who is really counting...) - They do some of the coolest stuff I have ever seen.
Russ McMullin - Because he is a talented designer and a great chat dude.
Dan Antonelli - because he is a real talent and I would enjoy a conversation with him.
I can think of a whole lot of people I would dearly love to see again, though...

That's easy- I'd like to eventually meet just about everyone here, oneday! Why- well a lot share similar interests & ideals & inspire me creatively, and... "just because!"
Edited to add, I've been lucky to meet Rhonda Price, Empy, RT Thomas, Mike Lavallee, and one other north american bloke whose name has slipped my mind but he could do incredibly detailled amazingly tiny 'rude' pictures with a striping dagger- while they were all down under in Oz- that's 5 for starters!

I have been fortunate enough to meet some really wonderful Letterheads in the last couple of years. There are others here I feel like I've already met.
With me it isn't so much about the talent or being in awe of a person, it's more about who someone is inside and where they have come from. Take "Super Dan" for instance, talented? - incredibly!....but that isn't the part that I am drawn too. I'd still like Dan even if he was Multi Camless or painted straight lines. I like the child in him, complete with vulnerabilities and imperfections, I like the comfort I feel in having a heart to heart conversation with him, I like his mischievous sense of humour, and I like his drive to push the positive in life. It's like that with most Heads....I'm drawn to their character. The more we share in values and life's circumstances, the more I like them. There are a few who have shown me some incredible kindness in tough times - those are the ones that top my list - I'd like to get the opportunity to thank them in person.
I'm looking forward to meeting a bunch of you guys at Lodi. I don't know how I'm going to get any work done.
Although it changes on a day to day basis, I'd have to say that it is Nettie that consistently keeps coming back to the top on my "want to meet" list.

I too have met a lot of Letterheads over the past few years. With a couple hundred in attendance at the Mazeppa gig, there were more than my brain could remember. I was fortunate to get to work with Grampa Dan (permanent resident of toon town), Rod Tickle (the kangaroo chasin' schizophrenic color-blind monkey), Bob Parsons, Stewart, Felix, Kelly Thorson, Steve Estes, Jane and Bill, and Joe....Elvis....too many to remember, but all great people and a lot of fun.
Let's see....
Bill Modzel (cause he likes good computers)
Dan Antonelli (cause he likes good computers with big screens)
Rick Beisiegel (cause I want to see why it takes 5 Dells to do the work of 1 Mac?)
Mike Lavalee (just to watch him work some airbrush magic)
Bill Hueg (cause he can sling a mean mural on the wall)
Mr. Magoo, Raymond (the MC router dude), Nettie, Kimberly, Art Vanson, Tony Vickio, and many more! Here's to seeing you all soon!

ok, one more Sal...cause he's the man!

Ive been fortunate enough to meet alot of my teenage idols - especially the Jersey crew here. I'm more fortunate to call them friends, including Rich Dombey, Mr. J, Bert Quimby. And of course some Letterhead website friends - including Nettie, Steve Racz, Ray Chapman.
Of those I would like to meet -
Dan S: Inspiring guy, good attitude, intelligent, thought-provoking. Show's what's possible with hard work and positive thinking.
Bob Behoenek: Never met him, but obviously have been influenced by his work and articles over the year. Insanely talented.
Jeff Devey: Another super-talented sign-god.
Gary Anderson: This guy is so good he makes most of us look like we're still in kindergarden. I wish I had 1/10th of his talent.
Mike Stevens: OK, so he's not alive - but I hope to meet him in heaven. Incredible contributions to the industry. My books were written with Mike's as a benchmark to shoot for. I can only hope that my books have an impact on people like Mike's did.
And on a personal note, thanks for those who mentioned my name. Its very humbling coming from your peers.

Over the years I have been extremely fortunate to have met so many of my heroes, some of which have gone on. Each has produced a flood of memories and my life's work is just an accumulation of what they left with me.
So many I have met and still want to spend more time with in order to pick their brain.
Not really a person, but I would like to meet Sawhatshisname's MultiCam just to see if he will ever produce anything but samples.
This weekend I will be in OKC and get to meet Karyn, so that will be one more off my list.
Dana - just to ask why and how she ever ended up with Bruce.
Larry White - we've met but just briefly and I would like to spend a lot of time with him to learn more about glass.
The same for John Studden - just a master at gold and a lot of other things.
OP - surprise! I think it would be neat to sit down and try to figure out how his brain works. We are the same age, so I think we would have a lot in common.
Lots of folks here who have names and photos, but not a lot of personal things other than what I read....Jill, Steveo, John Deaton (so he could show me how he does those cartoons)Kelley, Felix....and the list goes on and on. Oh, and Catherine - so she can share her enthusiasm with me.
Now, do we need a list of folks that we have met but would rather forget? No, no. Just kidding.
Like Dan said, those of you who mentioned my name really make me feel good, but very humbled. I'm sure that I would gain so much more from you than you would from me.
Probably I have met a great deal more of you than I have not...and it has been a joy - each and every one.

I feel the same as John. It's too hard to list just 5 for me. I have chatted online and on the phone with so many of you now. I could make a really long list of people I want to meet. I made it to a couple of meets last year and had a great time. I do regret not having met some letterheads that have now passed on.
If I had to pick someone to be at the very top of my "want to meet" list it would be Kimberly Zanetti because she has been so influential in getting me acquainted with this group. Her kindness and generosity are amazing. It is no wonder she is held in such high regard.
Kelly Thorson is actually the first letterhead I met face to face. She gets two thumbs up from me. What a great friend.
My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 3129 | From: Tooele, UT | Registered: Mar 2005

For every Letterhead I would still like to meet there is one I've already met who I would like to spend MORE time with... personal one-on-one relax and have some fun time. The list is long in both categories.
I have met many of my heroes and influences through the years. There are still many, many more to go.
For those who wish to meet me... I'm truely honored. I hope I get the chance to make face to face friends with the kind folks here who hang here.
The next meet I get to attend (in Lodi) promises to be a great one where many of the folks I look forward to meeting will attend and perhaps sling a little paint on the wall where I will be. These folks will move to my "want to meet" list to the great friends list I already have.
I have been truly honored many times with wonderful Letterheads who have travelled a great distance to where I was working to give me a hand and have some great times. The winner in that category is Chris Elliot.... who drove thousands of miles - all night just to sling some paint on the mural in Sterling, Illinois. That was a wonderful project where others joined in too... Debbie, Dave, and Jay.
Letterheads are COOL!

I have met Si Allen ... not only that, I've stayed with him ... now THAT'S an experience! Certainly one I would do again at the drop of a hat. He knows just about EVERYBODY since man painted on cave walls. Si ... there's a few Oz Letterheads you still haven't met. Come on down next year!
But my vote for the "Professional Letterhead Meet Attendee" goes to Ozzie John Jordon. He does know everybody, everywhere and has been to more meets worldwide than I have had hot breakfasts!
My list of "Wanna Meets" just keeps growing. I managed to make a fair dent in the USA content with a visit to Fred's Meet in Ok a while back. A trip across Canada next year will pick up a lot more ... especially Kelly, Donna, Dan, Dawg and see the Mayor and his lovely wife again.
Thanks Steve and Barb for the opportunity to meet and continue meeting such good friends.
