My only Brother moved back to Newfoundland a few years ago, he lived in Pentictin BC For 35 years. He divorced up in BC, He was married for about 28 years. He looked up old friends when he came back, and just for the laughs he looked up his old High school sweetheart, to make a long story short, she was also divorced, they hit it off again, and they got married. Imagine that.
But that's another story... The last few months he's been having trouble eating, swallowing really.. last week he had a scope put down, the doctor suspects Cancer, I can't believe it, my only Brother.
He sees the surgeon tommorow, so even though I'm not an overly religious person, I do believe and pray every night.. Can you keep him in your prayers tonight? His name is Art, and he's 55, he's the oldest of seven of us.. Yes I have 5 Sisters as well.
Also if you suspect something is wrong with yourself, see a doctor, don't take any chances.
Thanks

Father God, I offer this prayer on behalf of Art Butler. We pray that You keep him under Your wing and in Your protective fold. We ask that You rid him of his inflicitions and restore him to health.
We ask that You do Your will and the glory be brought upon You for the good You do. We ask this in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Amen
Neil, I am praying for your brother and for you because you are my brother. I wish the best for you and yours.

Amen. I will be praying for him, too, Neil.
And you are right about getting checked. My interior chest wall pain was just that-strained muscles. But I had blood tests done & found I have Lupus. No biggie, I don't think, pain in my joints, & that is why my face is so red!
I am in agreemnt with Bruce's prayer, & I will pray more for him on my own Neil. Let us know how he is doing, ok?

Amen. I couldn't have said it better, Bruce.
You'll both be in my thoughts and in my prayers Neil. Never underestimate the power of prayer.
My Mom had chest pains tested for two weeks. Finally they said it was stomach cancer after a biopsy. The only thing she could swallow was hot coffee. After surgery the surgeon said yes, cancer- wait for the path report to determine treatment. Praise the Good Lord, the path report came back negative! It was an ulcer that she had let go for years without treatment.
Heavenly Father, we ask that you will make Yourself known in all Your strength to Art Butler - that he may be physically restored and be certified free of any lasting ailment.
Let Him feel Your presence and know that You are the Great Healer and work for the good for those that love You.
Give Art the peace and contentment that he needs at this time as he goes through some anxious testing....and give Neil and the rest of Art's extended family a calmness and a confidence in Your will for Art's life.
It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Ditto to previous prayers, as prayers aren't my long suit, I'll let those who are good at it say the words and I'll contribute the feelings. Your brother and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Neil, We're praying for you here. (My son's name is Art too!) Power of prayer is more than we can imagine. Someone once said, " Seven days without prayer makes one weak." I try to pray as I meditate, doesn't have to be words, just thoughts, just ask Him to come into your heart and mind and give you guidance. I still miss my sister (12 years ago, breast cancer went misdiagnosed). Still, when my father found out, he got her sent to Salt Lake City from Idaho's small town doctors, and she had a radical mastectomy, and lived 7 more years. We all did a lot of visiting even though it was a long haul from Florida and Illinois, Ohio. She traveled also. I feel her presence in the wind, or when I'm looking for a paper, some music, memories. I just know she is in a beautiful place and always in our hearts and minds. God bless you guys.

I lost my brother last year at the age of 36. It is so unnatural. Sickness in any form is hard, much less a young family man. Always remember that God knows your heart and your pain. This is my favorite scripture text...If I may:
Phillipians 4:6&7 6 Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let YOUR petitions be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard YOUR hearts and YOUR mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.
Along with the thoughts of the others, please know we care. Give our best to Art, his family and to your family as well. The day is near when sickness will no longer be a part of life. (Rev 21:4) Hang tough & "Keep Positive" He needs you.

This is Neil's brother Art, replying to all of you who were so kind in taking a moment and wishing me all the best and/or praying for me as I face this undaunting road that lays ahead of me. To say that I am so scared would be an understatement. Its people like you that makes a person feel that he is not alone and has someone special to lean on when needed. That, combined with my own faith in the LORD, my family and friends, will see me through this ordeal. Again, from the bottom of my heart, a big HUG and THANK YOU Take care, all of you Art
