I recently bought a "Baker's Scaffold" from the local Tractor Supply... It was like $169 (on sale). 6'X30" x6, height adjustable in about 3" incriments and came complete with lockable 5" castors and an angle Iron re-enforced 1/2" plywood deck. Handy for lettering tall trailers, and alot more managable in the shop than my 4x8 construction scaffolding.

Incidentally, I don't know why that posted twice....... Just for the record, I don't have Alzheimers, stutter when I type, nor did I buy the same scaffolding twice.......

For higher jobs we use our 5X5 regular scaffolding. I also have a good supply of 30" X 5' scaffolding which we use a fair amount - especially in the shop. Its great on concrete floors but not stable on softer dirt and such... too narrow. It is a lot lighter and easier to move around for one person than the big frames.
We also have two Bakers which get the most frequent workout on our jobs. The wheels make them handy to move around.

I have 8'x 5' regular scaffold, but the baker scaffold I have is a 30"x6'which is great for inside or limited space jobs. My bakers scaffold came with outrigers and additional sections so I can go up about 25'. More and more thou I use the man lifts.

just bought 3 stages of brand new 6'6" ladder type. 4 8" casters and two walkboards. just got sick and tired or renting and picking up and carrying back.
i like the ladder type you can easily adjust to what you need. this is one priceless asset for a shop to have, esspecially on pavement or concrete

if you do more then 1 level i would get the one with the ladder rungs....had a set here when building the shop...WITHOUT ladder rungs and 2 story(10-12' with wheels)and i had to have a ladder set up to get on top. with ladder rungs it provides some way of gettin up there....

Dont waste yer money on walk through scafolding.. get the standard 5x5. I use scaffolding all of the time and the walk through is way to hard to climb and decend on. Also with the 5x5 you can move your planks to more locations than on the walk through..

Thanks guys! I know what I want now...definitely not the walk through. They make a 5x6.5 scaffold which will be easier to get in and out of and is higher to boot. I also want some of the baker scaffold with outriggers but will probably have to settle for one or the other.
