I've tried a similar service 24hourartwork.com and have had mostly good results. I'm pretty sure however that 24hourartwork has their jobs done in China or India. It's very cheap and for the most part decent work. I think $12-15 goes a long way overseas.
Even if they don't do it perfect, it's often good enough that it only needs minimal touch up by me requireing far less of my time than if I had started from scratch. I figure if these types of services save me even half of the time I would have spent doing the job myself, they're worth it.

Mr. Shortreed is finally back home from his tests at the hospital. As usual, he is a bit upset to see Letterville being used to benefit everyone but Mr. & Mrs. Shortreed.
I've explained many times that Letterville is our fulltime business. We figured we could make a living by helping others make money. Most would agree that is a win win situation for all involved. It looked so good on paper.
Everyone knows that Letterville is the most efficient way to get the word out about anything. Most play the game by the rules and become Merchants before taking advantage of our service. Those that just pop in whenever they have something to sell are a whole different breed.
Advertising is not cheap. A magazine ad can cost several thousand dollars each issue. Trade shows can cost hundreds of thousands. A Merchant in Letterville can get started for as little as $500 a year! We keep it low so new and smaller vendors can afford to play the game. How many can you direct mail for $500?
In order for keep everyone happy, there has to be a benefit for all involved. The guy selling stuff, the customer that wants the product, and the people who have developed a highly effective way of putting the two together. In this case, that is us!
We are not complaining, but we ARE frustrated. If someone calls and asks if I can recommend a good shop in Maui, Hawaii, I'm going to send then to Doug Allan. He's been a Resident here for years. I would not even think of sending someone down the street to Doug's competition. Maybe I really am getting old, but there was a time that friends helped each other out.
I wish Eric and Richard all the success in their new ventures. Barb and I don't even mind allowing you one free plug each. You've had it. No more Mr. NiceGuy. All future posts promoting non-Merchants will be moved to the Supplier's Soapbox. We have a business to run.
