Just putting the little "mad face" affects my blood pressure.

How come I can buy a $59 toy from WalMart, made(of Course), in China and it comes with all of the parts carefully wrapped in foamrubber and plastic bags, tied with little rubber bands, divided by 10 pounds of cardboard so that when the cottonpickin' thing is shipped across the deep blue Pacific in the hold of a dingy freighter, is loaded off onto a busy port with tons of other "junk", loaded onto a train or semi, hauled across the country to a warehouse, offloaded, stacked probably 3 pallets high, loaded up again and shipped to a store, thrown around some more, and I open it up and there ain't a dent, not a scratch, nary a mark anywhere on it.....???

But I can order a roll of raw sandblast stencil, that has been shipped directly from the factory to my supplier's warehouse, and after UPS is done with it the ends are so mangled up, it won't track through my plotter straight.

I've called and fussed at these people till I'm sick of it. The answer...it would cost too much to protect the ends...we'd have to charge more.
Well..why not charge more for it then? After all, it's already over $135 bucks a roll...what's another 10 bucks gonna matter...or should it cost 10 bucks?

UPS's answer on it?
We won't accept a claim on it because it is not properly packaged...doesn't meet our requirements.

I've seen some composite panels, electrical signs no tellin' what else the Chinese are sending over here. Maybe sandblast stencil will be next.

I'd suggest finding a distributor that delivers to you. I've never had a problem with Midwest Sign & Screen delivering us Anchor stencil in perfect condition.

just my 2cents...

I feel your pain though....

I've got a few good stories about UPS too. I've found it's better sometimes to spend a few extra bucks and have it shipped Fed-Ex. Build it into the price.

Last week I had a $4500 job from Nabco....my biggest sale EVER.
They did fine on the sunbrella banners.
But the boxes shipped thru UPS were a different story.
The banner box was cracked open.
I had 4 boxes of interceptor pole brackets, but I only got 3. The 4th arrived the next day.
I paid $180 for shipping.
Wayne's right, the overseas stuff is much better packed.
Love....jill

HAHAH
Matthew,
I thought I had hit the jackpot the stencil order before this one.
I ordered it from one of my suppliers who delivers.
It arrived in PERFECT condition as well. they undoubtedly took it right off the pallet or stack, where it's better protected, onto their truck.
Only problem...they sent the wrong size..19'' instead of 24". [Roll Eyes]

Wayne, you either need to change suppliers or plotters.

Thanks Steve,
I checked with Midwest and they do carry 19 7/8'' resist but not the 24''. But that wouldn't help us anyway because it would still ship UPS.

But I found another supplier who will deliver 24'' on their truck.
Thanks again.
