1. I feel right at home with a pencil or pen in my hand at all times. On a work day I have to have an exacto knife in my pocket. I go crazy when I can't find one. LOL I just need to draw and doodle and cut/create or at least have the ability to do so.
2. I could decorate and renovate night and day 24/7 I love it so much.
3. I have a red hot caesar or 2 every sat night.
4. I love the sight of fire. Whether it be a campfire, or a candle or a fireplace cracking, I can't get enough and never tire of watching the flames flicker.

1. I have a certificate of Business Management from the University of Alberta faculty of Extension. My studies were spread over 8 years.
2. I painted my first sign for money in 1970.
3. I came to Edmonton in 1972 where I attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and was enrolled in the Commercial Signwriting program. I was approached in the 80's to become department head, but I declined in favour of persuing my dream of business. I am to this day on the advisory committee for their Sign Arts Program. Later this month my company will be sponsoring one of the students in our shop for two weeks. This is the practicum part of their course.
4. I plan to retire from business before I'm 55 and get back to hand lettering, furniture making, writing and travelling.

No formal qualifications, but half of an engineering degree. I am a qualified level 1 athletics coach, and have coached kids to reach regional and also the state titles. I'm a Justice of the Peace (J.P. Qual.) My first ever sign is still standing and in good order- hand carved/chiselled while still in high school,done for a local museum in 1979!

1. I have a very quick temper when working on projects that don't go my way. I throw and break stuff, cuss like a sailor, etc.
2. I work extremely hard at being creative and original, it rarely ever "just comes to me" and most of the time I'm pretty frustrated about it.
3. I like fire too. FIRE! FIRE! 'Cept I prefer to set stuff on fire just to see how it's altered by burning.
4. Before I got a desk job and started gaining weight, I raced bicycles long distance (80 miles/day for 7 or 8 days) and did inline skate marathons (26 miles).

1. gopher at a music store
2. asst mgr of the pet shop that moved into the same space in the mall, when the music store moved to a bigger spot in the mall

Vacations are hard. Growing up, our vacations were going to Grandparents' place in Fox Lake, WI. As an adult, 'vacations' are Letterhead meets and dog shows.
1. I played flute in the Robbinsdale City Marching band - one year we marched in Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and the Sun Bowl parade in El Paso.
2. My best friend and I drove from MN to Leesburg, VA in 1991 for the 1st AKC Chinese Crested Nationals.
3. My first date with Bruce was the Walldog Meet in Vinton, IA.
4. We got engaged Christmas Eve 2000 while in Williamsburg, VA with his family.
Four things that most people might not know about me:
1. I am obsessive/compulsive and drive Bruce crazy (can you say MONK?!?) - straightening stuff, putting things back in proper order, list making, planning, etc etc etc.
2. As a teenager, I volunteered over 400 hours as a candystriper in the local hospital. I played flute in band, tenor sax in pep band and guitar in jazz band.
3. My only ride in an ambulance I don't remember. They wondered if I had a stroke (migraine, loss of use of one side of my body, incoherent), and the ER Drs told my family to come back and let them know what I was finally diagnosed with. My spinal tap was abnormal, they figured it was Encephalitis, but was never really sure.
4. I have a HORRENDOUS memory... I rely on other people, photos, and storied people have told me that I have memorized. I hate it, as I can't remember childhood, my daughter when she was young, or any other special moments, etc. When in sign school (and my last job), I took insanely detailed notes - which other people would copy, since they were so much better than theirs!
Probably a good thing I hooked up with Bruce, cuz he never forgets anything...!
