First let me say that I have never watched the show. Not one single episode.

What is it about the show that is so appealing to those of you who have?

It's addictive. For the most part, the plot is completely implausible. The guy never pees or eats for the entire season. [Rolling On The Floor]

I had never seen it before last season - we watched it then and are watching it this year and I've purchased the DVDs to the 1st 3 seasons. I should say that I never BUY DVDs.

It's very fast paced and you have to continually remind yourself that is all happening in ONE day. If someone gets injured, by about the 3rd week you're waiting for them to be better and you have to remember that it was 3 HOURS ago.

Jack (the main character) gets himself out of the most ridiculous situations but it's very fun to watch and see how he does it. The fact that he walked into a room full of FBI agents (who were all looking for him), accessed the guy's computer and manage to escape without being detected pretty much pushed the envelope for me but hey, it's Jack.

I work out of my home, like a few here, so there is a distraction danger. I'm afraid to watch it, because I know I would get sucked in, then have to buy the DVD's, then I'd never get any work done!

I bought the Deadwood DVD set and got no work done for almost a week (had to watch it twice!

Only MP3's while working please!

It's a cross between James Bond and MacGyver. Considering the crap that passes for entertainment on tv, 24 is a true treat.

I was naive enough to think that the story would be over in a few episodes, and when it didn't reach any conclusion, I labelled it with those midday soapies (Y&R, DooL etc) and gave up waiting for the end!

(sorry, I had better things to do at the time...!)
Thanks Kimberley, now I know that the end wasn't supposed to come- a bit like "Lost", something else I didn't bother getting into watching, though the kids did for a while!
Lost reminds me of a modern take of Gilligan's Island- they just don't get rescued!

24 is one of the most creative, original ideas for a series to come out in years.

I don't watch network tv at all. In fact, I don't watch much of anything that has commercials.

But 24 has originality, pace, good writing, and Keifer Sutherland is definately a chip off the old block. (Yes, I'm a Donald Sutherland fan)

As I noted in an earlier post; DVD is the best way to enjoy 24. But, if you're watching tv at 10:00 on Monday evenings, 24 is a good take.

I haven't seen it, but speaking of getting hooked on a show, I got hooked on Nip / Tuck... till it started getting repetitive. Season 3 had a good ending, I'm done with it. I'm afraid of wathching 24 or The Shield for the same reason.

I'll be watching Survivor Thursday night, too.

One show that I really thought I hated, turned out to be one of my favorites. The Office.
I'm hooked on that one.

Hey Joe. Please don't tell me that you watch CSI Miami!!? [Wink]

.. . .and you DON'T watch West Wing?

I'm scratching my head.

24 AND Alias work for me.
NCIS is about my favorite though. At least when they pickup a pencil at a crime scene they don't have to tell you what it is. [Rolling On The Floor]

we agree there bill CSI MIAMI SUCKS...that red headed dude has one face and his one liners never change. CSI ORIGINAL is good, new york is ok not great....last show i like with the star of NCIS was when he was a dextive and drove a 73-74 white buick riveara.

Isn't it strange how Jack (Kiefer) doesn't think twice about wiring somebody up to a lamp or slicing parts from their body to get information FAST? And what's with the unrelenting whisper voice? And what a wuss we have for a president on this season's show.......

Sorry, Kimberly...yes, they did...and it's the charactor that you think they did. You have GOT to catch up on your episodes so that we can discuss this stuff! Susan is 5 shows behind, so I can't talk to her about the show either.
