LOL Don...they might run, but not for long! Once they get submerged like that, the engine, trans and rear end gets full of silt! That silt is an abrasive that will grind everything out of specs.
Now if you have lots of time, you can disassemble everything , wash all the parts, spray with an anti rust and reassemble it. Then you will have to replace most of the electronics and wiring. Next, out come the seats and interior, replace!

Looks familiar Kristi! Hope you guys fared well. We also flooded on this side of the hill. I had water 3' deep around my shop New Year's Eve. I'm real close to the Truckee River. My shop stayed dry but many of my neighbors weren't as lucky. I'll have to stop by when I go to the coast. Good Luck, stay dry!

si ...flooded cars aint so bad if its "fresh water"!!! can be salvaged pretty easily. most of these cars if the battery didnt go under water are still fixable.....now if the water whent over the battery...now you might have all kinds of electrical problems, unless it popped all the fuses when the battery was grounded out.... now SALTWATER damage cars...are JUNKPILE BOUND!! saltwater never stops eating it away...no matter what you do......when i worked auto parts we hada machine shop, they did heads and blocks for auot and marine. all these have CORE value, bring in set of heads, for the set you are buying....bring in engine for the one you are buying...ONLY WE WOULD NOT ACCEPT EITHER CORE IF IT WAS IN SALTWATER!!!! after saltwater they are JUNK!!! i bought a TR-250 when i lived up in maine, was driven off the road near bangor and into tidal flat..when the tide was out, the guy left to go get a tow truck, by the time he got back to the the tide came in and the tide was up to the door handles before he got it out....5 gal of bondo....new paint and i sold it for 5 times what i paid for it!!!!

Hey Dale, just give us a call when you head over the mountains!
The Petaluma river has brackish(sp?) water, a mix of saltwater from the San Franciso Bay, and fresh water. It is a tidal river, the pictures were taken while the tide was still coming in.
So Don, according to what Joe wrote, I don't think these cars would work for ya!

This is what the highway heading into our area looked like a couple days ago. Our fire dept was rescuing folks from floating homes with jet skiis and the beaches are looking like log decks.

Sonny, next time the river floods, a friend and I are planning a kayak trip down that streatch of highway. We've been wanting to do it for years, but it could be rather dangerous because there are many large trees shooting downstream also. They look like rockets at some places.
