After well over a month of working at it between our regular jobs we now have a complete alphabet designed and routered to shape. The few letters I started with mushroomed (like most projects) into something much, much bigger than I had intended.
Its a pretty collection of unique ideas however that should serve us well in the new year as we set about selling the dimensional work we are now confident we can do. It has been a marvelous excercise in learning how to use our router! The samples are all approximately one foot square of Precision Board ranging from 1" to 2" thick.
Janis & I booked a trip to Disneyland 10 days from now... the goal is to do all my regular work AND finish these samples before we go!
Nothing like a good sized goal to start off the new year with a bang!
If anyone has a favorite letter they wish to fabricate as a panel I'd happily do an exchange with them!

Seriously, one of my non stated new years resolutions is to actually get some of those ideas in my head and PRODUCE them.
How do you manage to accomplish so many things in so little time?

Nice "K" Dan. Would look great in a dark copper with a little patina.

The green blob is actually an island with elevation contours painted in darker shades of green as the elevation increases. I haven't painted the water around it yet and in the upper left corner is a fancy compass north arrow with the letter N (for North) which will be gilded (of course).
I see now I had the letters out of order in that row. Too many late nights I guess.... or its been too long since I was in school!
