Looking at the portfolio pages over the last few weeks I have enjoyed watching as many of the talented designers "help" improve on others work. My question is?
How do the folks who provide new renditions, or improvements manage to get the original artwork onto their systems from the portfolio page? Does the original poster provide artwork to you? Or do you start from scratch? Can someone do something to "import" the artwork to their computer from the web site so they can fiddle with it?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Hi Bob, I've nabbed images before by right clicking and copying to my clipboard, then pasting into my graphics editing program. Changes are done by whatever way is most efficient - sometimes it's necessary or simpler to just redraw panels and everything.

When you do a right-click, Save Picture As, it tells your computer to put a copy of that picture in a place that you decide. I usually save things to my Desktop. At that point I use Photoshop to open them.
In Photoshop I use the magic wand tool to select portions of the image which I copy and paste into different layers. That way I can move the individual elements around without having to reselect each time. I use the clone tool to patch the holes in the main graphic where the pieces were cut out. Once everthing is in a layer, it can be manipulated separately - resized, rotated, brightened, etc.

For simple changes I just copy and paste images into Corel Draw. I copy it two or three times, then work with the shape tool to resize parts of it and move them, or I cover parts of the graphic and place new text over it. Export again as a Jpeg.
Then you resave the new version you've created, & upload it to a server somewhere, & paste the link into the BB page.
