Guys what can I tell ya.....

I had the opportunity to have King Midas (Pete Payne) come to the shop and give me and the crew here a day long lesson of Gold leafing techniques.

From the sizing to glass gilding to engine turning to chit chat about fellow letterheads this was an awesome day.

Talking about helping out in a time of need!

I don't know if many of you know Pete and Marj from Canadian signcrafters but these two are top notch people who use the word service to the fullest potential possible.

We are all smaller sign shop owners right?
Well do you believe in the mom and pop shops and support them like we would like businesses to support us?

Well Marj and Pete are the living proof of this. These guys spend countless hours to keep the trade alive by teaching their skills having the speciality products to preform those skills and do what it takes to get it if they don't have it.

They support us all at Letterhead meets, heck they even rent a booth at the Consac show to sell and educate.

Above and beyond all this they are now shifting with the sign technology and have become full fledge Roland dealers.......I am not one to brag but after Pete helped out here for the day and then charged me well below what he is worth well....it was the icing on the cake for ordering my new Roland sol jet 54" from them.

Support these guys as much as you can. They are in the signcraft Magizine in the classified section under ATTENTION CANADIAN SIGN CRAFTERS
heck even if you are our southern brother or sister they will even ship there as well plus your buck goes alot further up here.

check out there stuff www.signcraftersupply.com

Give Marj or her great side kick Jennifer a call they will sure help you out to the fullest.

Thanks Again Pete Friday was a blast!

I'll second your motion Steve!

I can attest to great service from Pete & Marj!

We don't go through a lot of conventional sign supplies at our shop, but when I need specialty brushes, gold leaf supplies, OneShot paint or some great books on signs I know who to call! Even though they are right across the country they ensured prompt delivery service.

Canadian Signcrafters offer what many suppiers do not... and thats their hands-on experience. If they say it works well, they know it does though experience... not just the say so of the manufacturers and wholesalers.

Best of all, Marj & Pete are great people and I'm proud to call them friends!

Congrats on the latest tool in your arsenel Steve! Combined with your unlimited imagination, we should see a ton of new and exciting projects from your shop soon!

All of the Above!
Marj and Jennifer take the time to talk, explain, so you get what you want(sometimes not what you thought you needed!) Pete is called in for the Big Guns. Always a treat to order, then await the package!

John

lucky you, Mr. Greer.... to have a One man shop meet!

I agree!! I don't need stuff from them that often, but it's always a treat to get to talk to them. What great customer service! And they have the most adorable kids!!!

I have to add my two cents here, the Paynes were at the Quebec meet and gave me a beautiful book titled The Encyclopedia of Monograms. This book has been a great help and reference. Met them again at a meet where we lettered up a dude ranch in Ontario.
Pete is loaded with talent and knowledge. They also are very fine people, a real pleasure to know.

We're Payne fans too! Pete and Marj have been part of our lives for almost 25 years. We've shared many good times together, and yes, we've seen some bad times together.

I've always considered Pete to be Canada's Rick Glawson. Pete showed a special interest in gold leaf early in his career. This led to Pete and Rick's association, and eventually the start of Canadian SignCrafters Supply. Many of us in Canada were introduced, and bought our first gold supplies from Pete and Marj.

We have several sources for sign supplies here in Canada. Canadian Signcrafter's Supply are one of only two Canadian Sign Suppliers that have shown interest in Letterville. Why go anywhere else? We don't.

Thanks for the heads up about Marj and Pete becoming Roland dealers!

I'll be calling them tomorrow. Nothing big but I do need a new cutting strip.

As far as being helpful...They are the greatest!

Pete will recommend what is needed for a job and he is always right on.

The only complaint I have about them is that they won't drive down and actually "do the job" for me!!! [Rolling On The Floor] [Bash] [Rolling On The Floor]

Can't say much more than whats already been said here. It's probably been almost twenty years or so since I first met Pete and Marj when Steve and Barb hosted one of the first letterhead meets and workshops in Canada at their shop in Fergus where I later became an employee. They are truly very hard working and super honest people to know and deal with and good friends!

You guys really deserve this post, good luck with your latest projects.
