I gotta be careful here because it is not my intention to use this venue for advertising. But I asked some of my close friends on this BB not to mention my site for the purposes of being able to see how much traffic a magazine ad would bring there.
The ad has been out for a while now and I can see the results. I'm curious as to what happens when the letterhead community knows something.
Also there are about 60 Signcraft toons, about the same amount of political cartoons, some musical sketches, a quicktime movie of yours truly playing and whole lot of sharing from me to you besides the few things a person could purchase.
One more thing. Mike Meyer's Mazeppa, this website and your comments are the reason I took the time to do what I did.
Thanks to you all who have offfered your insights and concerns. Happy Thanksgiving.

Mazeppa has changed my life. There are few people sprinkled through my life where change came by. You're one of them Mike. I was minding my own business and you compelled me to come to Mazeppa in 1999.
In 2005 I came back from Mazeppa sunk deeper into the lives of true friends and was really changed musically through the music of Switchback.
I love you Mike. May the encouragement you've been to others come back to you 7 fold...

Good work Bob! (& I'll say ditto to Alicia's comments!)
With the caricature of Mike Meyer, the way you've drawn it, there's a fine line between whether he's painting with a quill, or with a cigar

Great site Bob! I want every guitar lesson you can produce. Can't wait to jam with you in person.
Bob will probally never know the impact he has made in my life. Here's one example.
My last heart attack was a real dilly. I'm amazed that over 3 years have passed since then. As usual, I ended up in Intensive Care. Nobody told me just how bad this heart attack was. Behind the scenes, the Docs had Barb calling long distance Family to head home ASAP. When my Dad from Calgary arrived, I knew something was up.
Anyone who has ever had a heart attack will know what I refer to as "the fear." We pretend to be big, strong men on the outside, but inside we are scared. I remember lying in my hospital bed, full of self pity, scared and angry at the World.
Then a Nurse walked in with a big FedEx envelope. Inside was a very special card from Bob Parsons. Here's a part of it.
I cannot express the emotional impact this card had on me. Bob has always been one of my heros. It was overwhelming to realize he took the time to draw this personalized card for me. Thanks again Bob.

If you ever get up to Anchorage and visit Bob, ask him to take ya to a Great Pizza place called the "Moose's Tooth"...AND if the highway roads ever get plowed, he'll take you to the "DOUBLE MUSKY" great food!!

Bob, Your artwork has touched more souls than you will ever know. I've been a big fan since your first cartoon in SignCraft.
After seeing the many great caricatures by yourself and many others here on this site, especially that last one by John Deaton, I got a few books on drawing caricatures and now I scribble whenever I get the chance. Thanks to all of you.

My favorite one has hung in my shop or on my kitchen fridge for many years..."Cafe MDO." I blew it up to fit on a 8" x 11" and put panels above and below that said "NOW" "AVAILABLE."
Steve, for dredging up that old cartoon and the "behind the scenes" feelings there. I remember being really scared you'd never see that cartoon.
Mike... Was up here to help with a job. Said he wanted to go for a little walk -- dead of winter, sidewalks are obliterated by snow drifts and ice was everywhere because of a weird thaw. His walk was the whole length of the Old Seward Highway! We had a blast...
Jill... I, like many others, love Nettie to death. Thanks...
Louie... There's not a lot of books on How to draw caricatures, but the National Caricature Network (NCN) has a very informative newsletter with some how to's in it. Then there's my DVD on the subject over at the website! -- forgive the crass commercial message
Linda ... Funny you should mention the Cafe MDO. One of my favorites also because it happened to a much beloved signman working for me one day. I looked out the window and Dan was cutting some mdo with his coffee right there. I snapped a photo and the result was that cartoon!
Scott ... you do blaspheme, but with a much appreciated sentiment. Mort and Sergio are at the very top of their niches. Mort especially, his skill is unparalleled. There's not an illustrator in the country that can draw as well as he. But again, thanks. Just don't do that again. The first time, ignorance will save you. Second time, the gods will come after you!

I hope our illustrious mayor will forgive you the "crass commercial message" in the post. You have given us all so very many laughs Bob and some a lot more than that; you are a very special man indeed. I have to totally agree with you on Mort Drucker; there is nobody any better and darn few in the same ballpark.
Mike walked the length of the Old Seward Hwy??? Geeez... Was he going to Potter Marsh? You gotta send him thru Spenard next time, maybe pick up some king crab legs at Gwennies, LOL. Oh well, it's not like he's not used to snow.

Ricky, If Mike were to walk through Spenard he'd probably end up Mayor before he got to the other side. Thanks for the back up on Mort and the kind words.

Cool Site overall! Now I have to go learn that E-Jam. Sounds a lot like RL Burnside doing "House Up on the Hill" or maybe a little Robert Johnson's "Kindhearted Woman".
Either way keep up the great work. Didn't realize you are a such blues nut. Just spoke with Brad. Too cool.
Thanks and Thanks!

Steve thanks for the endorsement. I've been putting the quicktime movies together tonight for installments 2&3. Man that' a lot of work!
Alan... I love the blues but I'm not a real student of anybody. Should be I guess. Right now I'm really digging Albert Collins. My cousin is the student of all the greats. Brad won't let me get too far off course!
Bobby... thanks. Why don't you zap somebody here on the BBoard? They'd either forgive you or jab you right back!

And Don... Of all the browsers I didn't check... Netscape. But you know, I don't know enough to fix a problem like that. When we first fired up none of my links to Signcraft would pull up their homepage intact. Found out that SC had a corrupted homepage. That got figured out and fixed by some cyber brains.
But thanks a mil for persisting.
