Long story short he found it tried to buy it for the asking price of 1600. The price then went to 2200 and he got the extra cash. Paid the guy and was waiting on the roll back and the guy changed his mind and told dad is was worth more. Dad got mad and got his money back and went home. I let it sit for a few months at the 4500 price. I bought it for him this week for 2500 and I am going to give it to him for Xmas. He called his buddy that found the car for him and asked him if it was still there. His buddy told him just what I told him to say. SOME ARROGANT ASSHOLE BOUGHT IT! Dad says good now maybe I will stop thinking about it now. It is going to be awsome. He gave me the love of cars that turned into the love of all things with cool paint and now I can give something back to dad aka Gasser Dave!!! Bring on the 70s lace and funky paint!!!!!!!

Back in 1964 a friend of mine had one of those Anglia's. It was all original when he got it. Had a little inline 4 cylinder engine with a floor shift.
He comes over to my house with two other guys "STUFFED" in the back seat. Says let's go for a ride.
We crammed all four of us into this clothes closet on wheels and proceed to "race" through our local wooded wonderland called Mill Creek Park. Well.............................................
Somewhere around the third sharp left hander, don't you know that the little car said "screw this".
Rolled onto it's side and proceeded to slide for several very long moments along the pavement.
Everyone survived with just crushed ego's. We almost needed an ambulance because we all were bustin' a gut laughin so hard one of us p****D his pants.
The car was totaled for the grand sum of $75.00.
My buddy went to the salvage pool and re bought the car for $45.00 and it began its new career as a BLOWN GASSER!!

I had one many years ago... it was a 1952 as I recall. It looked very similar and I stuffed a V8 into it. It ran well but never finished it. A few years later I found a 1948 pickup version which I started but also decided tolet go. It was time to raise a family then... and that was far more important.
I'd love to see pics through the build process!

Yea Dan that is a little part of the story. Dad married into a broken family with an out of control 13 year old, The boy was steps away from being dealt with by the state for vandalism, He had failed 1st and fifth grade and was just out of control. Dad had a brand new 85 Mustang GT that he bought with the money he made on his 68 Camero. He sold it to help his new family and got a 4 door Oldmobile Omega!! He then proceeded to lovingly put a boot in my ass every time I did something wrong. That and giving me an outlet that has become my life {hotrods and racing} saved me from being a dirtbag loser forever. He adopted me along time ago but I cant remember a time when he wasn't my father. This is the least I could do.

Damn Ryan, after seeing the post I was going to ask if I could adopt you, but after reading your story it sounds like, for you, a better man beat me to it years ago.
Congratulations to you for finding a Dad worthy of such a gift(the car).
Congratulations to your Dad for finding such a gift(not the car).

Here's a pic of my '52. It came from New Zealand via the UK, Oklahoma City and Dayton, OH.
Your Dad is gonna have a blast working on that thing. Keep my email address as reference. I have a lot of friends all over the place that have these cars and it helps to have contacts for parts, etc.

A high school friend's Dad had one of those...Anglican minister. Lord, if he ever knew what we used to do in that car! I recall pulling into a gas station and my buddy asked for "a quart of gas, a pint of oil, and would you fart in the tires please!" Well, it was funny when I was 16! MUR
