Im looking for some pictures of cargo trailers that have been painted and airbrushed. the small one 12to 20 feet. I did one for a handy man the other day and it seems like there might be a market for painting them . any one have some sugestion or experience doing them? what about pricing how do u base your price?

Hi Stan, Some of my contractor buddies have them, as well as myself. I usually charge by the job - I'll draw up three sketches superimposed on the trailer showing various levels of 'detail', and price accordingly. The last one I did was 20' x 10' with digital print logos and lots of copy for a builder. Three sides, installed dealing with those pesty Torx head rivet bolts. I think I charged him $800 and a trade of labor to cover some work I needed done at my home. That was a low quote, simply because he had come to me for all his other work (5 trucks and lots of real estate signs), and I cut him a little slack. Any other contractor off the street would have been around $1250. I haven't hand painted any, for the fact of the market for these things is that the contractor/owner will invariably upgrade the unit, and wants the lettering taken off, so vinyl rules here. I did, however, do a racing trailer years ago using 3M's enamel receptive vinyl custom painted. Can't remember what I charged for that, though. Not much help, I know, but charge what the market will bear and make sure you cover the time involved with the prep work.

i did this one 2 years ago, maybe 3...all paint fir $1100! and this little 10 ft'er for $350. all vinyl..
