1 year and 2 months ago we did a sign out of this material and it was not square and guess what -it delaminated, but not where the holes were to hang the sign it was worse at the top where there is a 1/2 circle. I use the West System to epoxy all my plywood edges, according to the manufacture -the marine grade epoxy is what failed and if you do not use the edge cap this will negate the warrenty on the product (it's funny that this epoxy is for the marine industry and not for land use) Has anyone got any better ideas or just square signs is what this material is good for

well that sounds like a bunch of hoooey on their part. lusterboard is that vinyl skinned mdo right? or is it the aluminum coated mdo? anyway...i use west systems epoxy to coat out my edges of mdo also. i think it works slick. the manufacturer doesn't want to own up to their product failure because you didn't use the edgecap and thats their only way out so they played the card. was the half circle cut by hand or on a cnc? were there any indications of prefailure when you cut it...loose plies or lifting??? did you slightly overlap the epoxy over the edges so there was a seal?...is there a constant stream of run off from a roof that beats it?? just interested in knowing exactly why this failed. i rarely use that stuff because i think the edgecap is junk...seems no matter how great you think you have it on(silicone alone or silicone and tack nails)...its always hanging down in a few years. i have never used metalwood on complex shapes for this very reason.
