My old made of steel dad had a polyp removed from his larynx last week, and the biopsy came back positive for cancer. The doc still seems to think it isnt, and had it retested at another facility. We're hoping he is right. Even if it is, he told dad the cure rate for this is 100%. So right now we aren't worrying, cept maybe me. Id appreciate you mentioning dad in your prayers. I know fully well that it helps.

John. So sorry to hear the news. You're in my thoughts and prayers ("big time"). I lost my sis to br. canc years ago, but, the "Cancer Treatment Centers of America" helped her significantly. I wish we would have known about them earlier. They use a holistic approach also with medical technology. She used to get raw veggie juices if she desired. They are so supportive. Please let me know if you would like any information on that. I know though, that each facility specializes in a certain type of cancer, as hers was in Oklahoma.

Funny how life is sometimes... You grow up as a boy, your dad shows you stuff, how to ride a bike, to play hockey, how to use tools...
In my case, my dad transfered some of his artistic skills in some direct way. I'll never thank him enough for that. As a 40+ boy, you want this buddy around for ever.... but we all grow older, we all eventually catch a bug and leave this place...
My dad has been in a home with alzheimer for over a year now. Funny thing is, he's strong and well, doesn't know who we are.....doesn't know who is....
Why would the good Lord keep him for the ride if he can't enjoy the ride? Hek, he doesn't even know there is a ride anymore... Worst is my mom, a widow without being a widow. Alone for the first time in 50 years. 1.5K$ a month to keep him there, no plans... her life savings are going down the drain!
My good John, I'll trade you prayers... Lets keep your dad around for a while.... and lets make mine go.......peasefully.....painlesly !!!

Dads ARE Heros. Mine was the Greatest! (Except maybe, for Yours!) Even more so in the years he hasn't been with me. He died at 51 (in '81) as a quadrapalegic due to Korean-War injuries.
But know, that ALL your Dad is? If he's shared any part of that? You'll be OK... I know coz I realize, every day, how amazing Dads are. I didn't realize how MUCH GOOD Dad taught me, until later on. Look, NOW, to the AMAZING things you've learned from your Dad...and can, still.
John? ASK him, now, anything you've ever wondered about. Believe me!! HE wants to talk, if you'll ask. ALL the knowledge he has, he wants to talk about and share. I didn't have the chance to ask. Hell, I didn't even know the right questions.
You have a cherished task. Time to help his cure. Time to help. Time to ask...Because no matter what happens in the future? TODAY is all we have.
No matter the medical diagnosis: TIME is precious. Just sit with him and learn. That was my most precious moments with my Dad.
Blessings. (\O/)

Today Dads doc called and said the biopsy he sent to the Mayo clinic was positive. They also stated it was type that is pretty easily taken care of. Doc wants him to come see him in one month, as they think it will go away on its on. If its still there after a month, they will use radiation therapy. This all sounds good, but sometimes Im a pessimist you know. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and thoughts.
