I get so tired of looking for fonts. I usually try to ask the customer if they know or could find out what font was used but usually they come back empty handed.
I charge for looking, but I still get tired of it. I did have one corporate customer that had a spot on their webpage specifically for graphic designers and sign person, where you could click on a link, enter a password that you get from their corporate office and it would take you to all the vector and/or raster files that they ever used. It was get. No guessing.
So Sprint has now changed their logo and I don't know what the font is.

It would save a lot of other people a lot of time, looking up stuff for you, that YOU are going to charge your customer for.
I'm sorry if this seems harsh but if others can utilize the internet to get what YOU need, why can't you??
Start flaming away folks!

I wanna see the next person who askes for a font get FLOGGED TOO!!
Sheesh!, who doesn't get paid for looking for a font. ITs not good bizz to hunt fonts for free.. It can take more than a few minutes to find one.

Be nice. Hope that some of these folks helped you, Laura. No wonder people are skeered to ask for stuff around here. Carl, did you add any rukles to that chili? I heard they make it extra spicy. Love.....Jill

Whether you agree with having fonts available for free download on the internet or not. They ARE there, if you want them. And there ARE sites available to assist in identifying fonts. They are VERY helpful, if you bother to take the time to use them.
Where did I find out about these sites?
I bookmarked them and several others, just like the list of bookmarked Logo sites I have, after reading about them right here in Letterville.

Thanks for the help everyone. I wanted to mention that I would get paid for it so that I wouldn't get jumped on by those that feel this is soemthing that we should charge for. I guess that I can't say anything right for some.
I thought the font was Sans... but the "P" didn't look right. I was so tired of searching that I thought someone here would know immediately without having to spend THEIR time looking.
I had googled for the logo and didn't come up with anything. As far as www.brandsoftheworld.com...I must have playing hookie that day. I usally go that russian website for logos but I couldn't find it there.
ps. Thanks Jill.

I've read Laura's post several times and don't see the word "free" mentioned even once so where is all the hostility coming from? The title clearly says "Need font ID", not "Need font".
You have to IDENTIFY a font before you can BUY it, and there are tens of thousands of possibilites. I, for one, don't have them all memorized yet. Let's be honest; the font identification databases don't always work so well either. How many times have you entered all the specs on a font only to have the lame database spit back some flintstones-looking freak font?
