OP, did you ever eat Chantrells? I picked them in Oregon back in my vegitarian days... man those things was like the filet mignon of shrooms... & priced like gold too.. so knowing where to pick em was extra cool [Smile]

found this http://www.wild-harvest.com/pages/chanterelle.htm what you call chantrells dad used to call a "stump mushroom" goew in the same places sheepsheads grow but are all individual shrooms. what i called margoles are MORELS.

Actually bought some mushrooms today for a steak dinner - Dr. Hook? I saw a picture of him in Circus Magazine as a teenager - he had a pierced unit in the photo - weird - even for those times . . .
