I always used CorelDraw except for when I want a nice drop/interactive shadow...then I use Vinyl Master PRo (one of these days I will learn the program enough to be able to use it all the time).

When I put a interactive drop shadow on some copy, I want my measurements to be in INCHES so I can know if I am putting a 1/4 " , 1/2" etc. on some lettering. I also would like to be able to go back into it and back adjustments without having to delete the shadow and re-do if its not just right.

Anyone know if its possible to set measurements to INCHES and make adjustments?

2 ways,

First, in the top left corner where the rulers intersect click this to oscillate between metric and imperial.

Second, from the Settings window (from the Help menu) you can set the default units to either metric or imperial…

Thanks,

Set your type the way you want it and convert it to curves. Then you measurements will be in inches if the program is set right. Then do your drop shadow last.

Shaun,
When I do an outline, how do set it to know if I am putting a 1/8" outline on it or a 1/4". I know that I can put in a number like 1.0 or whatever, in that box but I don't know what that "1" represents.

Her's a quick fix...

Ever bought SignGold?
The starter kit comes with a conversion chart to adjust between metric and SAE measurments.

Very handy to keep around and easy to do conversions at a glance.
