What color doesn't look horrid on that pinkish brick????
I absolutely hate pink so I think that's causing me to hate everything I come up with. Letters will be channel, I'm thinking white. I'm stuck on what direction to go with the logo color-wise. Red is out, totally unreadable during the day and I can't come up with anything else that looks right with pink. (Course, to me pink never looks right so that may be part of my problem).

Depends on the type of business. I remember going to this restaurant once and everything was in pink and light green. By the time we finished the meal, it had kind of grown on me (the wine with the meal might have helped, too) How about a darker, warm green?

How light is the pink in the pinkish brick?
First gut reaction is that white and pink look very clean together....dare I say, almost classy.
I also thought of a dark wine if the pink is extremely light....but like red, wine on top of anything but a super-light pink can make the entire area look like a garrishly gross lipstick color....
I'd say "Play it safe and go with your first choice...white."
I also think the white would offer the contrast you need for the text to pop.
I drive by a construction biz that has a medium/dark brick office....some sign guy stuck on dark blue Gemini letters....and it disappears into the brick to such an extent that I still can't tell you what the construction company's name is.

Maroony dark brown. With a black outline if necessary. White. With a rust-coloured outline if necessary.

Hello Letterheads, I don't poast often, my english is not too good, but I read quite well. Kissy I think a moss green or not to dark charcoal could look good. These coulours have been mentionned before, mut maybe not in the same tones. Good luck

Thanks Doug, coming from a Letterhead it's a real compliment, I am always amased at the work I see here, and I did not dare show my work before, you guys (and girls) are so talented, with such a style, we here in Quebec have been influenced by the style of signs we see in Vermont and all the neighborgly states.
I don't want to hijack Kissy's poast, but I should introduce myself, I have been doing signs for the last 20 years. Stopped last year to try something else (accounting) and realized the I could not be happy in another trade.
I come and visit this site everyday and enjoy it very much, with all the different personalities here I find it very entertaining and at the same time learned a lot about signmaking.
Nobody knows me here, but I feel I know many of you, reading so much of your posts.
Thanks to Steve & Barb for having such a great place for all sign people to come and exchange.

Gene said it all! Doesn't matter what the colour of the lettering is but with this background you will have to "Ontline or put a drop shading.." to it for the knock out effect
Most complementary colours will work (Colour Family)
