After many weeks of research, and even more weeks of waiting and surviving a conspiracy of monumental proportions (by short people) the MultiCam router has arrived at long last in our shop.

It came off the truck and into the shop without a scratch, although there was mere inches of clearance getting through the door.

 -

Its now resting in its final position, ready for levelling and assembly.

 -

The sad news ( I know this is going to bust Raymond up bad) is that its Friday and this weekend is a long weekend. The tech won't be here until Tuesday morning to start setting things up for us and teaching us to operate the machine...

I think I'll go wax my MultiCam one more time... [Smile]

Congratulations. We have a Dimension 200 here at work. I love running it, it keeps people out of the shop.

Hey Dan,

I imagine you'll have a track worn in the floor waiting until next week to fire up the new toy! Then again it'll give you time to designs an award winning first project.

Have fun with that thing......and by the way, no short people were hurt in the making and sending of this message....well, at least I hope not!

take care, peace

Well, OK....I guess I'll have to say it - CONGRATULATIONS!

Even though, I think it looks like that used one they were trying to sell me. I think the bearings are all worn out and the top is warped. Tell you what I'll do...I'll give you $500 for it just the way it sits. What a deal.

It's a beauty and I know that it will be churning out fantastic works of art in no time.

That's exactly the one they were trying to sell me. My price was $15,000....that's what they sold it to you for, right?

Wouldn't have that been funny if it were wider than the door?

The next three days will be a test of your patience.

Get ready Letterville....starting next week we will be hearing a blow-by-blow description of every move this thing makes.

I'm already sick of it and he hasn't even lit it up yet.

And by the way, why haven't we heard anything from that other short guy? Must be counting his money.

earth to dan earth to dan....
i gotta give ya a pitfall...ya know so you can stay grounded(and ray can smile)....learn the software til you can't see straight! its all well and wonderful to say i want it to make that! BUT
...what happens to me(and it could be because i'm french, blonde and polish)it takes so frikken long to figure out how to make it 3 dimensional in the software that alot of times you can punch it out by hand....i'm going thru that with my moose mania logo...i'll probably end out just doing profile cuts and hand carving the detail.
artcampro is the most time consuming software i've ever had to learn....profiles, v carves and simple reliefs are easy....its the real 3d stuff that sucks to learn. can't wait til there is more available relief files to buy.
how's mr greer making out with his new toy?

Phoebe really liked the new router.... and like me can't hardly wait to see it RUN!!!

Raymond
I could have put it in endwise if I had to... and would have cut a hole in the wall rather than give up. It was quicker with the forklift to put it in sideways. We then jacked it up with my new three ton floor jack (which I purchased yesterday just for this purpose) and then sat it on one of our heavy duty carts and rolled it into place. It worked much better than I had imagined it. Plan B and C weren't necessary. [Smile]

Karyn

From what I hear the EnRoute 3 interface is a little easier to navigate than ArtCam- one of the reasons we went with it in the end.

I'll start off nice and slow- on relatively easy stuff.... bevels - some concave and convex shapes with textures, lots of layers, and perhaps some other stuff we just know it will do.

I have a whack load of stuff ready to throw down on the table... and the tech guy is at our disposal for the whole week if we want him... [Smile]

We gotta stay ahead of that Greer dude in the ROUTER WARS!!!! Latest I heard he gets his machine on Tuesday.

I'm turning green at the moment after a week of hand cutting everything for a stack of signs in a sign system. Sure would be nice for those multiple jobs.

Really though, congratulations Dan on your new investment. I can't wait to see what you do with it. [Smile]

As I bike rode with cody past Giggle Ranch for an icecream tonite, not a soul did I see nor a peep heard. Guess the entire family is waxing the router. [Smile]
