1) I have a job putting vinyl letters on back window of van. It has one windshield wiper. This middle of window will remain empty with letters on top and bottom. So blade will come in contact with some letters. How will wiper affect vinyl and glass. This is a first for me and I am a little unsure.
2) I am looking for the coast highway 101 logo. Also looking for a web site I used to have but lost somewhere that had logo.ru or something like it in it. I believe it was a site from russia with vector logos. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The wiper will not affect the vinyl other than dragging dirt across it and leaving very fine scratch marks. The only thing that might damage the vinyl is if there's a big chunk of ice on the wiper in the winter (if you get ice in your area). The ice hitting the vinyl could lift an edge, but the wiper itself will not as long as you do a good application.

I did suggest the side windows but customer did not want to block her childrens view out the windows. Basically, the back window is her idea. I am located in San Diego so weather really isn't a factor. Actually it only rains a few times a year.

BUT..if the customer wants the lettering on the back window so it doesn't hinder her kids views out the side windows(what silly reasoning!!!)put the vinyl where she wants. Be sure to print out a disclaimer that wiper damage is not your problem and get her to sign it!

What, nobody here has ever put vinyl on their windshields before?
I've never had problems with wipers lifting lettering, not even when I lived in Missouri and had enough rain, snow and road grime to require using the wipers, or 1/4" of ice build-up requiring chipping it away with a scraper.
Of course it also depends how big the lettering is. The bigger the more bond strength it has.
Being in San Diego, I doubt it would be much of an issue

I like the idea of putting vinyl in reverse cut on inside of window I just don't know if it is a good idea with the window tinted and there are lines in window (for rear defrost is my guess). Any ideas on reverse cut applied to inside of window with it having tint and lines. With this being a fairly new van maybe the tint and lines are inside of glass, and will not be affected, but I really just don't know. Or maybe just put it on back with know guarantees. This is really just a small job for a friend and my inner thoughts are outside of window will be ok. I don't believe she will even use that wiper but very little, if at all.

Well, here I go stepping right in the middle, oh well;
I applied (wet with Rapid TacII) my logo to the back glass on my Toyota 4 runner in 03, it was the dead of winter, I did it so my wife could film me while the snow was falling heavily.
There is a wiper on the back glass(4 runner limited model), I sold the 4 runner to a friend who is in realestate biz. in McCall,Idaho, she still drove it around a while before removing it, it was on for aprox.1 1/2 years.
If you have ever been to McCall Id. you know how the winters are, the wiper on the back window runs everytime you drive in the winter, long story shorter, it stuck well and was NOT scratched or damaged by frozen snow, ice, or wiper blade.
It was premium cast, I think 3M or Arlon film.
Then theres the 3ft.X3ft. logo applied to the front of my snowmobile trailer on the galvenized tilt up front ramps, its still there nearly 3 years, its been beat up pretty bad by debri flying off the truck that pulls it, oh, and it too was applied outside wet with snow falling (I was demonstrating for local snowmobile dealer).

Ive done a lot of back windows with a wiper in place. Never had a problem with it. But use a little sence. Make sure there are no pinty corners. Thats all. Well applied vinyl will not lift.
My own vans have back window work in vinyl and never once lifted a corner.

Thanks everyone! I put it on and the customer was extremely happy. I gave it a little star wars special effect with a bold font and I feel pretty comfortable as of right now that it will be ok for some time to come. Also, driver still can see out of back window. I gave her a 1 year guarantee but feel confident it will last much longer. Again, I didn't mean to ruffle everyones feathers but I do appreciate all the info. Thanks!
