Long time no see... Hope all is well.

What would you expect to pay for a 54" cold laminator?

What would you recommend? and a supplier?

We are going to plunge into either the versacamm or the Mimaki... what are your thoughts?

Hope your summer is going well, and that you took a little time for yourselves.

I have a CODA. It's a 40" or close. I bought it used . It's very well built but a little hard to get use to. I've seen the Daige III for about 1795.00 (55")from Grimco and the Seal for a few thousand. The Daige have been talked about as being light duty and not able to hold up under heavy production.

If I was going to buy one today it would be the Ledco. I've heard nothing but good about them. Well built and priced in the mid-range.

Hope this at least spurs others to answer your post.

Wayne

I have the low-end Quickmount-3 from Daige. I paide about $1250usd for it new. It is definitely low-tech but it works for what I use it for.

If I had the money at the time, I probably would have purchased one with a better clutch. I think a Seal, Ledco or higher-end Daige will do you fine.

I think my main priority would be who has the better service in your area and will provide training.

Thanks, it seems like I must be getting the cadillac of laminators, I've been given prices of around $10,000.00, this is for cold with heat assist, or just straight cold. It's also for the 54" model as well.

Neil do a search on them here on the board. They've been covered pretty well over the past year. $5,000 will be more than enough for a good one.

Hi Neil,
I bought the Daige 53" laminator a couple years ago and it works...but you have to use a sled and it really isn't much fun to use.

I've added this one to my wish list. Might be worth a look > > http://www.signwarehouse.com/hardware/lam_trim.htm

Yes Karyn, I'm also looking at a Soveriegn, Mike does indeed know what he's talking about, he's been a great help, actually he does quite a few prints for me as well.
How do you like your versa camm?

I tell ya I'd love to make it to your meet... one of these days I will.

Hi Neil,

I just bought a used (floor model) hot/cold laminator for $5000.00 bux. That included shipping and a couple of rolls of laminate. I will never need the heater, but the laminator looked like it was in good shape, and it works just great so far. I'll IM you where I got it from, I don't think they are merchants here.

I love my versacamm too, I'm laughing all the way to the bank....but don't tell anyone!!

Suelynn

I've had the Artic Titan 60" for 4 years now and it is a very good unit. Paid close to 8000.00. More than satisfied..
