who has one of these? i am considering this instead of a Versacam as i have had tons of problems dealing with Roland and do not care for their business practices...
i have seen a demo and the print quality is outstanding... it plots quicker than the Versacam and has a fore and aft heaters so prints are ready to use as soon as they come out of the machine...
i would love some feedback from people that have bought this machine...

Don't get it! We had one while I was working for a fast sign shop called "Signs to Go" it should have been called "Signs that Blow" anyway I didn't work there long, just while I was going to school.
I don't know if you were looking at the same model that we had, but ours had a stand alone printer and a separate plotter that were supposed to work hand in hand but didn't. To be honest I don't even think they were even the same brand. The plotter worked surprisingly well on normal vinyl but didn't work on our prints, so we had to hand cut all of our prints.
The printer did great with vector art but seemed to always mess up bitmaps and the colors were horrible. Maybe it was the software, but that still doesn’t defend the fact that it didn't plot your prints.
And last but not least and then I will stop my bi#$hing, the tech support sucked.
So if I were you I would steer clear of that piece. They saw my old boss coming when he bought that and we regretted it.
I hope this helped.

I can't speak first hand about the Mutoh, but I do know a couple things.
1. the inks are the same in the Vcamm as the mutoh...now as to how each machine handles it..well I have nothing to add on that point.
2 the situation Joe refers to is what i like to call the SIGNWAREHOUSE special, because they "bundle" one of their plotters with that printer, and call it a package! The registration is manual, not computer controlled. Far from ideal. There is a better more expensive option, a cutter fitted with laser guided registration...that would be better, but more costly.

You hit the nail on the head Barry. My previous employer got it from signwarehouse. Like I said the plotter and the printer seemed to be two different brands and this plotter definitely didn't have laser guided registration also the print problems we had were most likely do to our rip software and our computer setup.
So, if there is another bundle that you can get from a different company besides Signwarehouse that comes with a different plotter, different software and way better tech support, the Falcon Outdoor might not be that bad of a machine.
I would personally would choose the Versacam over the Falcon Outdoor because its a one unit deal and you don't have to deal with the hassles that we went through.
I'm still not sure why Signwarehouse would sell two machines that don't work together in a bundle like that.

Gary I have the falcon Jr. It has performed without problem for 6 months now. It has laser guided plotting, so the machine the others spoke of must have been old school. Check out what others may tell you (Barry is wrong in this case). Take real advice from current users only.
From the web-site:
To produce decals and images requiring contour cutting, Mutoh America offers the “Junior” bundled with the Mutoh Ultima vinyl cutters. The Ultima utilizes a laser guided cutting system to accurately register and contour cut with “Ultimate precision and speed. With “Junior” and Ultima you can print and cut simultaneously and Ultima’s 39 ips cutting speed is not compromised like combination printer / cutters. The “Junior” and Ultima 850 are bundle priced at $13,995.
I bought from Advantage Sign Supply. Response and service is lightining fast. Print quality is top notch.
I bought mutoh because you can print/cut 36" width.
We are the beta tester for Omega to Mutoh files. So far - So good.
By the way, alot of shared technology inside these machines. A friend of mine has a Mimaki. These two machines look identical except for the purple cover his has.
