Yes, but don't roll it up afterwards. Chrome has a polyester base and doesn't stretch and form like vinyl. It WILL tunnel if rolled.

The banner is for a rock band, it needs to be used several times in various locations. I know the problem with polyester adhesives. Has Aluminium leaf a mirror look? and which brand could I use?

It is pretty close. It is a bright silver, looks like metal. I use the German stuff. It is pretty cheap, buy a book and try it out. Use the 1-Shot size and go to town. The alum. leaf is easy to work with too.

it's not suggested for outdoors, but the 'silver medal" foil can be printed on clear or white vinyl & will have the properties of vinyl instead of polyester (like ability to be rolled) but has the mirror chrome look.

Wow! Thank you all for your precious ideas and advices.
Now, I have to find the needed items in my country! Not the easiest part of the job!

Desire, how quick do you need the leaf, I can send you a book. It is only about $7 a book, 25 sheets, 5+/- inches square. There are a couple of stripers there that should have some of the supplies, look them up and just ask.....

Another alternative would be make a mask and spray this stuff: http://www.alsacorp.com/paints.htm The effect of 95% real chrome plating without the weird funhouse effect of the "chrome" vinyl. I don't know if it is flexible, but it may be. It is an automotive finish.

Thank you Doug, But I'm in Switzerland! I could order silver leaf (or aluminium leaf) here, but I don't think that 1-Shot is available here . I have also no tools for gilding! Even an enamel receptive banner is not the easiest thing to find in Switzerland.
I know no signpainter here who use Gold leaf. But I love challenges!
again

Don't know if you have it available there, but ORACAL and AVERY both make a silver leaf material that is pretty darn flexible. I have used it on banners before with no problems.

Desire, I used to work for a company in Winterthur and we were doing gold leaf. Of course that was a long time ago, they might be all digital by now but it would be worth giving them a call and ask. You're way too far away for them to be competition, so they shouldn't have any problem with giving you information. Its' Maler Duenner AG in Winterthur, ZH, the sign department foreman is Mario. Tell him Lotti Schwyter gave you their number. Not sure if that will help but you can try. Good luck.

Could you give me the reference of theese materials? I just made a test with the 3M Mirror film, which seems also an alternative.
thank you
