O.K. Crew.....

I want to save the cleaning time on the brushes in my shop

I need to go big with this one.

We use are brushes everyday on a large scale.

I have the fire rated bench cans for cleaning...

Frankly I am trying to rid my life of stress which includes cleaning the bench cans 2-3 times a week putting in new varsol etc.- You all know the routine!

Here is the question....Does anyone use a solvent recycler like they use at auto mech. shops to clean brushes?

If not what is your routine for cleaning brushes on a constant larger scale.

How is everyone by the way?......Man I feel like makin' some large dough today! I am readying the posts about income well......I am going to make some large today!

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I just bought a small 2.5 gallon version, (2.5 gallons at the bottom, not the whole container). I would use it and let it settle. I got it at Big Lots.

Whats nice about this is that it doesn't pick up the mud at the bottom until it's too thick to go further. Your clean up is not as often.

I worked at Naegele Outdoor and they used a larger version of the mechanic tool cleaner and it did the same. About once a week (or three), we would drain off the top good layer (after it has settled over night) scrape off the bottom crud into the recycle containers to be picked up, washed it out, then reintroduce the cleaner material back into the cleaning container along with new liquid. We used a lot of varsol.

Since my work is so slow, my cleaning time is much further apart than yours, but I'm sure it will help a lot. If you do large scale work, like in billboards and walldogging, I would definately go for the larger version.

You can use any normal thinners in it, but keep out "hot" thinners such as xylene, lacquer, etc. They aren't good for your brushes anyway.

Now for the short version: Yes, they are great tools. Get one!

Boyd

And to think that my brushes actually clean themselves in a machine and all I have to do is throw them in and set the timer [Smile]
