I have to give a proposal for a sign that will be 18" x 96". The sign would go on top of wood paneling that is 18" x the length of wall so the paneling would show on both sides of sign. The wall has molding on both sides of the paneling and this is the only paneling on the whole wall. I thought of pvc (1/8 or 1/4) but just wondering what that might look like with a long strip of white pvc with wood paneling on sides. Any ideas?

what kind of office? Grocery store? Doctor? Lawer? Tattoo shop? What message do you want to portray to the viewing audience? Is there a budget for your sign?
I remember a sign I did like this a few years ago for the local Navy base. It was for one of the submarine groups main headquarters office. COMSUBGRUTEN in 10" 1/4" brass letters on a mahogany board. $1400.00 I think was the installed price.
(( if it is for a tattoo shop... PASS on it ))

John: Loan office. The business of morgage and loan. I don't know what kind of budget they have but I got the impression they didn't want to spend to much money. I really like your idea of brass letters on the mohogany board. Just wondering how logo would look in a digital print beside the brass. She was looking for a couple of options. Thanks!

Sounds like the 'white' PVC framing you described would contrast nicely with wood paneling . . .but I suppose that would also depend on the colour of the 18"x96" . . . or is a clear panel?
I'm trying to understand how it will be visible from both sides if it's on paneling . . . or did you mean both ENDS?
If we're talkin' a mahogany board...I just don't see a PVC frame on that . . . that material would look good mounted off-the-wall a coupl'a inches . . . PVC would go-with a plex face . . . a hand-painted pictorial on mahogany - a digital print on plex . . .
Why not mount letters directly on the wall...do you HAVE to use a panel?
Am I totally confused?
I knew I should'a skipped this topic . . .

The white pvc board would just have business name and logo and be screwed to wood paneling. It would only be seen from one side. It is going on a wall approximatly 2/3 up on wall. And, yes Sheila I did mean both ends of sign would meet with wood paneling which I think would look ok. I gave her an option of pvc board or cedar sandblasted sign or mohogany board with brass letters. Sorry for not discribing sign job very well. It was even getting confusing to me. Thanks so much for your experience! Looking back at it I should of taken a picture of it (the wall where sign would go). It sometimes hard for me to remember everything that I seen. I did take notes but apparently not enough. Anyway I will just go forward.
Mike

We would do it for $180.00 without shipping with any image, artwork or color in 3/4 inch or less for thinner material in an image that even laquer thinner would not take off. Just a thought..
