I have been having a problem with Signlab 5.0 Rev11
thats got me baffled.
When I cut one design it works fine, but reverse(mirror) the design and it comes out wacko.
It will still appear OK on the screen and also on the cut preview but will somehow change when it is being plotted.
Im not sure if this is a problem with WinPro 2000 or just the drivers. Im thinking I will need to go back to an old computer running Win98 and try that.
I really dont want to upgrade as Cadlink suggests or pay a large "fee" for the Free tech support.

Gary,
I use SignLab 5.0 Rev 12 with Windows Pro 2000. That's the revision SignLab recommended. I still have a few glitches but I haven't cut anything in reverse lately. Just did a test and mirrored a graphic..it worked fine with Rev. 12.
I downloaded an upgrade for SignLab when it became available a while back and I started having problems. Hopefully you can download Rev. 12 from www.cadlink.com.
Good luck!
Judy

Gary, I am running SL5 rev.6.2, and ran into problems with a later revision. Went back to 6.2 and no more headaches. All this on a Win 98 first edition Pentium 2-etc.

Try this, and no guarantee it will work. Before you do a mirror cut--duplicate whatever it is, and reverse it onscreen, before you send it to the plotter. If you are selecting whatever, and it is right side to, and then you select "mirror" in the control panel---then that may be where the problem is.

As I said, no guarantees, and good luck.

Bill Ive tried the duplicate then mirror before cutting, also tried the mirror option in the plotter setup and both have same results.Ive also tried in in SL 5.0 rev1 with same results. thinking its more of an incompatability problem with the WIN 2000Pro drivers because I dont remember any plotting problems with WIN98. However WIN98 had alot of problems with freezing up or blue screen crashing.
Judy thanks for the tip on the rev12,all Ive gotten from cadlink is "you need to upgrade"or your free lifetime tech support has expired because you havent upgraded".

Update: I tried same file on my old puter running a dual HD with WIN 98 and WIN 2000 pro.
I opened it in WIN 98 and the plotter stuttered sounding like a teletype machine. It was painfully slow acting like it was having a hard time thinking.
End result was it looked the same as the newer computer running WIN 2000 Pro.
Maybe someone could try it on a newer version of Signlab for me and see if it acts funny.
What is most puzzling is it does fine until it is mirrored.

Gary,
I have a had few simalar problems to that on a 98 machine also. Its a Hickup in Signlab. Try mirroring on screen then weld everything then cut. That usally worked for me. But Bills right as I got rid of Version 12 on 2000 and went back to 6.2 and has worked flawlessly.
