More fun than humanly posssible!!!!!! Thanks to to Mike and all the Meyer clan and those who worked behind scenes to make this the "Mother of All Meets!"
You've got to almost stand on your head to get an old guy like me to stay up till midnight and beyond for several nights in a row, but that's only because it was never suggested, if it had I'm sure somebody would have pulled it off. Everything else happened, though, and I feel energized and ready to roll. I don't know where to begin, I'm so pumped. But that's what its all about -- meeting old friends, making new friends, gettin out the lettering brushes, bonding, seeing new techniques learning about different areas of the world -- I mean its almost too much. I wish there was more time, I didn't get to visit at length with every one, but hopefully at future meets I can bridge that gap. I'm not going to mention everbody's names, because it's really too much, but thanks to ya'all, I'm all warm and fuzzy.
I think Mazeppa has become the "Sturgis" of sign painting. I have never been to a town so affected by the sign painters of our era. If anything in that town was standing still, it probably got lettered or striped. Mike Meyer's shop is already a museum with signs and such in every nuke and cranny -- even on the ceilings. I'll post pictures on the other post, but right now I've got to have at it.
Again thanks to all!

This event far exceeded my expectations. The people made the meet. From the organizers, townspeople and volunteers to the participating letterheads.
Special kudos to the Team project leaders for a job well done!

It was a delight to meet both of you....beyond what a few words here could cature.
It is hard to focus now that I have made it back to "normal" world. I just have this urge to get in my truck and come track down some of my new friends and start up more good times.
Beth it was great to see you jump in with both feet and do some painting with some of the best people in the business. You had me laughing so hard in the panel jam area I almost peed my pants!!!
And Kansas, Thank you very much for all your help capturing the event on film and digital. I will send you guys CD's of all the images as soon as I get them all together. I have decided I will have to keep the panel you painted for me and paint a new one for my friends. I can't wait to see the movie you were shooting.
I hope you guys can make it over to Aledo so we can do this all again!
