We're feeling real bad about missing Mazeppa. Since we can't get to you guys, I got thinking about trying my hand at hosting a Birthday Party for Barb.
Believe it or not, we've never had a party here at the house before. This will be a first for me. The idea is to get together about 100 people. Half will be Family and locals. That leaves room for at least 50 of our Letterhead pals.
This whole deal will take place on Saturday, July 30th. Barb's Birthday is actually Aug.4, but July 30th. is part of a holiday weekend here in Ontario. That may create a bit of a problem with hotels and campgrounds.
We don't want to see anyone drinking and driving. Camping is available in our yard. We'll also do all we can to have somewhere for you to sleep. If you have air matresses and/or sleeping bags, please bring them. If all else fails, you can crawl in with us, the Grandkids and dog.
I have a small shop here for those who want to paint. We'll see if we can find some panels and paint. This is not officially a Letterhead Meet, but I am sure looking forward to showing off my Letterhead friends to our Family and the locals. Most of them have never understood what we have been up to these last 10 years.
We live in Fergus, Ontario. It's a small town an hour west of Toronto and about an hour and a half North of Niagara Falls, NY. Our old house is located right in the middle of town on an 80 x150' lot. I have some concerns about noise and parking, but we'll work on that once I get a better idea on who is coming.
Talk it up. I'm open to any suggestions that will help ensure this gathering is a success and everyone has a good time. Please let us know if you are interested in attending.

UH! Ya gotta have a huge party during the Greek meet?? Sheesh . . .
Is this a surprise party??
(100 people hopefully car-pooling in roughly 75 vehicles on an 80x150 lot, and half of those Y'ALL'S family and half of those Letterheads, and most of them on the floor and in your bed, AND NO noise?? . . .
I wish I could go.

Actually, we're looking forward to seeing you guys again and if I can talk her into it, as my B-Day present, she'll be the DD.

Bring the 4 gals along Si! We got a few decent restaurants and patio bars in town these days. Hillary Duff and Steve Martin spent a few days in Fergus last week filming a new movie. We got room for a few Letterhead stars too!

What a weekend! I got this big idea to tear up the existing patio, level the whole thing and redo it. Hoped to have it finished today, but we're only about half done.
Our old pal Terry Dieter, a Letterhead from Kitchener is going to be here with his professional Karaoke and sound system on Friday night and all day Saturday. We're also hoping to have a bunch of musicians, local and Letterhead, to supply tunes for the campfire.
Now that you guys and gals are back from Mazeppa, I'm really hoping to get a few replies on attendance. Due to space, we are limited to 50 Letterheads. That includes your Spouse and kids. I know it's hard to make promises, but please let us know if you want to come.
Any questions? Suggestions?

No choice Jill. What would a hoedown be without June Carter. All you need is a tank of that cheap American gas and a thong for the pool. Did I mention it is legal for you gals to go topless here in Ontario? It's the law! You must!

It shouldn't take you more than a couple of days to skate down to Fergus, with the prospect of free beer at the end of the journey!!!
By the way, I hear they have a bungee jumping setup at Elora Gorge, just a few minutes away. Might be safer than the low level bungee jumping I have tried in the past!
Canadian, Blue, Coors, Moosehead?? You name it buddy!

Mario...tell ya the truth I haven't even thought about where we're gonna stay. Usually when we arrive a Steve's place we incorporate it into a visit with my brother too. And it is a long weekend.
I'll have to ask Shirl what she wants to do.

You will need a copy of your birth certificate and photo ID to cross into Canada. We talk to Canadian Customs to verify things when going to dog shows.

A fast update! We've been working our buns off. Paint is coming. The pool is clean. The firepit is almost finished. Hamburgs, hot dogs and corn are looked after. A cake is ordered. Our neighbours, Paul and Terri have offered their backyard for camping. A couple portie potties are ordered. Tomorrow we tackle the garage/shop and start looking at some extra lighting.
Now it's all up to you guys. We've invited a bunch of old friends, relatives and a few strangers I just ran into off the street. All we need to know are who and how many Letterheads are coming.
Bruce & Dana Bowers Bevin Findlay Bob Darnell Dave & Shirley Grundy Deri Russell Todd Currie Terry Dieter
There's a also a bunch of maybes. It's not easy making final preparations, but we are still hoping to hear from more Ltterheads this week. It's not really a Letterhead event, but I know we were really looking forward to showing our Letterhead Family off to our real life Families.
There's plenty of room for tents, a couple couches, a nearby motel that is not fancy, but clean. You'll need lawn chairs, bathing suits, signkits and whatever you like to drink. Kids are welcome. Just keep a close eye on them and use comman sense.
It all starts officially around 12 noon this coming Saturday. If you arrive Friday night, we'll practise.
We've got you covered for supper and a late night corn roast. For breakfast, there are several wonderful restaurants nearby. That's where we're going.
In addition to Terry Dieter and his professional Terry-Okie, there are several musicians to keep everyone pickin' and grinnin'. If you play anything, besides the lottery, bring your instrument and join in the fun.
Anyone know where I can get some of those nice painted aluninum panels on short notice? I just realized I forgot all about that.

Have not been on here for quite some time, but thought I would take this oportunity to say that I'm looking forward to seeing a few of you folks again. I'm actually relocating back to southern Ontario after being out of the loop for the past few years. Yep!...time to light those fires again and get back to the custom airbrush work that I have always enjoyed doing.

Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it.
It sure is looking like it'll be a great time. I haven't had a Terry-okie experience for a few years now. Just make sure lots of people take a turn on the mike or it'll be Terry singing Alan Jackson songs all night long.

Hey Bevin... how are ya getting there... flying, riding or driving? I've got your panel sitting here since Quebec... finally can make a delivery or what??
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Hey Steve... Is there anything that you need us to bring?
See ya Saturday!!

Hey Dana! What do I need to have available for your cool, panel backgrounds?
Note to all! We're down to the last days now. Still have some of my Son John's "Monstor Garage" projects to hide. We'll knock together some easels Friday. There's some temporary lights that need to be installed, but I think we are ready to go. The weather looks great.
Be sure to pack your signkits, swim stuff, we're spraying early Saturday, but bug spray may be a good idea, cameras, musical instruments. Be prepared to stay over. Camping is available in the neighbour's yard. There's lots of floor space for air matresses if necessary.
I'm concerned about parking. After unloading your stuff, we may redirect you to a nearby parking lot.
You'll get 2 meals. Hamburgs, hotdogs, and salads around 5-6pm and a corn roast later on in the evening. Bring your favorite beverages. Some junk food like chips, pretzels, cheesies would be welcome, but not necessary.
This is going to be interesting. We've got some Letterheads coming, some Relatives, old friends, and people off the street I just ran into. There's old people, young people and lots in between. We've got stuff for the kids in the afternoon, TerryOkie, and some great musicians in the mix. Let's have some good, safe fun!
It all begins at 2pm this coming Saturday!

All I use is Krylon (it dries nice and fast to paint on) and scrunched up plastic bags. Just save the bags from Walmart when you buy the Krylon! LOL!
I can probably throw some cans in the car. Wonder what customs guys think of that?

I'll be busy unpacking and helping my young'uns relocate here as well. My hubby will taking his young'uns to visit their sister in Minot, North Dakota.
We have done so much travelling this past year and a half, it's amazing I haven't been able to schedule meets into the mix. But I promise to have fun tomorrow in your honor. Today (29th) is my son's birthday! WOOHOO!
