Signs of the Times magazine, in conjunction with the American Sign Museum, is honored to be the hosting the 2006 National Letterheads Meet, set for June 16-18 in Cincinnati, OH. In keeping with the popularity of the 1994 meet, the venue will once again be the Cincinnati Zoo. American Sign Museum founder, Tod Swormstedt, is coordinating the event, which will tie in with the magazine's 100th anniversary. The current proposal from the Zoo includes the use of three outdoor shelters, in addition to a separate air-conditioned facility which will serve as exhibitors' area and from which all meals will be served. A website is being developed for registration and information purposes. Watch this message board for more information.

Thanks to Todd, the early days of the Letterhead movement received a lot of publicity (along with the McIltrots from SignCraft). He had to buck some opposition to support us and to have reprinted some of the old classic books that we now enjoy.
Every once in a while you can even see Todd picking up a brush at some gathering. When he's on an exhibit floor somewhere he just doesn't look right in that suit, though.
I missed the first Zoo gathering, but I'll be at this one, if I'm still breathing. And the museum will be an added bonus.

I attended the meet in Detroit and will be at this one in Cincinnati also. Looking forward to seeing some of you that I met before and meeting those of you who post here but I have not met in person. Should be a good time.

Magical place to have a meet. Especially with kids. King's Island's not too far off -- another great place for kids ... even big kids like myself. I love a good roller coaster, but there's probably a reason why you don't see many folks over 40 in line waiting to ride one.
During the meet, I let the kids roam the zoo right before dusk ( a marginal call on my part ) but the zoo was closed to the public. As darkness settled in we could hear "help me, help me," "help me, help me" in the distance. I barreled out after the sound like a dad possessed. Come to find out the kids were already back and the sound "help me" was the sound the peacocks made. That's one of those stories you tell for a lifetime.

I have been off line for a few days but I wanted to chime in on this one. We will be there again, wouldn't miss it for all the obvious reasons.

I won't be attending. I'm going to make a banner as soon as one gets here tho. So sad to miss this meet! But that is the weekend we are having Rachael's graduation party...she chose it. And since I am being a terrible Mom and missing her prom by going to the Tickle, something's gotta give. The Zoo was my first meet, and it was a doozy! I'm sure that this meet will be just as grand. Love....Jill

Also not far off is the Argosy casino at the west edge of the Cincinnati bypass. I will be there this Friday night after I work a sprint car race at Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

I just got back from spending a couple days taking care of my new grandson. (Had a GREAT time doing that, by the way. ) But the downside is I found out that the weekend of the zoo meet is the weekend they picked for Alexander's christening! My daughter-in-law's parents are even coming from Poland to be here for it. SOO, that means we will all have to miss it and it really makes us ALL sad. Sorry though, my grandson's "stuff" will always come first!
Those of you who CAN make it, have a GREAT time! And at some point, think of Bill roaming the grounds looking for his "lost" children and hearing a peacock call "HELP! HELP!"
